Audio Precision System Sys1 USB Interface

Hi Udo,

I've been searching for a solution for the unsupported AP models for years and today came across your work here. I'm so glad all the old AP's are not going to end up as scrap.

What is the process to get one of your interfaces. I'm happy to take it at any level, I can build the boards if that helps.

Cheers,
Darren

Please send an email with your address to apusb@krebelder.at
if you are interested in the adapter!

The adapter allows control of older Audio Precision instruments via
USB 2.0 on the controlling PC.
For best performance use a High-Speed (480 Mbit/s)
capable port.

Supported Control Software:
APWIN 2.24 (older APWIN software may work too,
but this is not well tested, S1.exe does not work)

Supported Hardware:
All Audio Precision instrument hardware that is supported
by APWIN 2.24 will function with the adapter.
This includes the System One instruments, System Two
and System Two Cascade.

Plus, any auxiliary equipment connected, such as
a DCX-127, SIA-322 or SWR-2122 switchers.

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Note:
  • The AWPIN software runs in native mode and no
virtual machine or emulator is needed.
  • Speed of the AP USB adapter is similar to the
    PCMCIA card adapter
  • Visual Basic Macros and test procedures continue
    to work.

Thanks,
Udo

USB adaptor cable arrived yesterday with thanks. ;)
Payment on its way by IBAN.

I presume I need instructions to download driver software once you receive the payment.
Correct ?

Cheers,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

The software with the Winusb driver and a README.TXT is here:
http://apusb.krebelder.at/downloads/APUSB.zip

I did send it with email but some mail servers did not let it through.

Unplug any AP cards before installing Apwin (use Demo Mode).
Just to be sure that the Apwin drivers do not make problems on newer Windows versions.

just a quick note to say, I'm really glad to be able to use the System One on
my main box (Win 7/64) after years having to use a second machine with Win XP installed for the System One.

You have done an awesome job making the interface and even supplying it at a very reasonable price, long live the System One.

Well done Udo.

Udo,

just to report that my package arrived today. When I came home from work I installed software on my machine with Windows 10 and connected it to AP System One 322. It worked with no problems at all, from the first one. I checked several tests, analog and digital ones, including self tests and it is all peaches and cream. What a difference!

Thank you very much for dedicating your efforts to this amazing project and for sharing that with DIY audio community. I am so thankful for this opportunity.

Sincerely

AR2
