Oh dear.

Looks like my MC effort, to be published later this year, is going to get hammered.

Question is, why don’t you like it Doug? Surely, what is essentially a current output transducer in most cases, makes a perfect match for a current input amplifier?

Bonsai, in the other MC pre-pre thread you started, Scott Wurcer remarked that transimpedance amplifiers with near-zero input impedance, effectively robbed the customer of the joy of twiddling with termination resistance values and termination capacitance values. Since that is a tangible and important slice of the pleasure of owning and using MC cartridges, he felt that the appeal would be lukewarm and sales would be limited.

Whatís more important, one single time fiddling with resistors for a certain MC Cart or the permanent joy of having a perfect sound.
BTW, Iíve never heard of fidling with caps for an MC.

Indeed you can’t fiddle with termination resistors but you can fiddle with the gain setting.

As for sales Bah, this a DIY MC pre!

Quick question: is there a thread for capturing typos and other mistakes in the 3rd edition? As I'm reading through I notice things...

Thanks,

Neil
