ZOUDIO AIO4CH: 4-channel amplifier with DSP and Bluetooth

Too bad digital stuff is so complicated it takes an army of programmers... Imagine if the Zoudio amp served a webpage for config, just like a router does.

That would get rid of the stupid OS persnickities when running an executable.

How many routers have done this since the beginning of home networking? One would think it's easy - yeah, to think of - "Oh, just serve a page". I'd imagine one would need the power of open source collaboration, like DDWRT, to get it done!
 
@AudioResearch Can you send a PM or email with your computer specs? I will see if I can replicate your problem, if not, we will stay in contact and make sure it works.

@jjasniew Actually that is not a bad idea at all. I have talked with multiple collegues and friends about workflows. Currently the tool runs on Java, but you have a ton of other options including web hosting. The only thing you need is access to the serial port of the amplifier, which should be possible via the browser. It also makes the tool cross platform compatible. Definitely some options to explore in the future.
 
I'm thinking of buying one of these amp boards, with the plate, and I'm a little concerned about the thermals for the amplifier chips. The datasheet mentions thermal limiting at higher power outputs, but I can't find mention of duty cycles etc. Is it likely to be a problem under heavy-ish musical use? - I won't be running continuous sine tones, but could be at/near clipping with music for a few hours at a time, with 4x channels each seeing 4ohm.

I have finally found some time for myself and have downloaded V2.10, done a few REW sweeps, and added some EQ to my 4x fullranger (diploe) boom box. Nice.

My LEDs seem to be a bit off:
When I switch the amp on via the multi function knob, both the LEDs on the board blink once and then stay off. The external LED (green) goes on and stays on.
When I initiate BT pairing, the BT LED on the board blinks until pairing is achieved and then stays permanently on. The external LED (blue, I guess) does nothing.
Is there any way to fix this?

My other observation is that in the configuration tool, the graph sometimes gets lost. It appears in some of the Settings>EQ>Filters but not others.

Overall, I'm happy.
 
@dublin78 Are you on Windows 10? Does the config tool open normally after being closed?
No it doesn't. I had to download it again and re-install.
Update: Apparently the Config tool has to be "Run as administrator" otherwise it won't open (at least in my case).. So mystery solved I guess.

Possibly the BT led is soldered in the wrong way around.
You could try swapping it around, there is no risk of damage to the board:
It should be in sync with the onboard LED.
 
Nice looking box! How did you do the "chamfer" around the smaller driver cutouts?
The box is made from 12 pieces of 18mm plywood laminated into one piece.
I cut the driver holes with a straight router,before assembly. I then made another hole on some scrap wood and temporarily screwed it to the rear of the baffle. I then used a 24mm roundover to create the "waveguide" and afterwards removed the scrap wood which had aligned the bearing on the roundover bit.
A sculptor friend said that he enjoyed the "conflict" between the sharp straight sides and the smooth roundovers. That is what I was aiming for.
The box has three chambers, the middle one accessed from the bottom has all the electrics (Jesse's board and a 6s6p Li-Ion battery. The speaker chambers are accessed by the passive radiator cut outs at the ends. The drivers are obviously rear mounted.
 
Loving this thread. I got steered here after asking a general question about interesting Class D options and discovered what I had no idea was even possible here - a one board solution to DAC, DSP and 4-way amplification. I have ordered one! My plan is to convert my B&W 685 to active and to implement something like a Linkwitz transform bass equalisation (after have sealed off the ports). @lutkeveld - the deciding factor was your enthusiasm, determination and helpfulness displayed in this thread. So all your time and effort in helping people here with what sometimes must seem like very repetitive questions really does pay off!
 
It got pushed back a bit. I'm finishing up on some testing this week and hope to publish it next weekend.
It will also include a command you can send to disable the BT module, as a temporary option untill I include it as an official option in the configtool.
