Zilch has passed on. Others who knew him better say it better than I can, but he will be missed. RIP buddy.

Oh wow, I didn't know that he was sick. I built my favorite pair of speakers, my E-waves by learning from his mega-thread on Audiokarma. RIP
Geez... I had some email interactions with him it seems only a short time ago... wow.
Sorry to learn of this...

Zilch made significant contributions on several forums. He was a fantastic person, and was always friendly and willing to help others. Truly a great loss. RIP Zilch, you will be sorely missed and expect heaven to be jammin' by the end of the week.
Econowave - imaginative, cost effective, innovative speaker solution.
Recycle old speakers with a well designed crossover, reasonably priced compression driver and relatively cheap horn/waveguide and get a great sound! There are not many designs that can compete with a Econowave for the same time and money investment.
No Snake Oil here
RIP Zilch

Just an honest and genuine person. Keep moving forward as I am sure that is what he would want.
He will be missed by many. He does leave behind a legacy for us all to enjoy!
Peace and love Evan.

Zilch's practices got widely popular and gave happiness to many DIYers indeed.
I'm sorry I didn't hear this earlier. This is truly sad news. Zilch showed up on the Classic Speakers web site a couple of years ago. He stirred things up but in a lighthearted way. I could see that he had a good grasp on speaker design. We agreed a lot more than we disagreed.
Really sad to hear of his passing. Does anybody know much about his background?

Zilch was at our NorCal DIY event, in Rocklin California, last year and at the previous one the year before in Davis California.
Here is a photo of the group and Zilch is sitting to the right side of the picture.
His first name is Evan.
