Looks like Mouser are not stocking the JFE2140 TI JFET which makes a good alternative to the Linear Integrated Systems LSK389 and 489 devices used in the X-Altra Mini II Discrete Line Stage. The good news is that Digikey have them in stock.
I’d love to know why Mouser arent stocking the TI devices anymore.

The supply chain is really wacked out now but I have got everything for the remote control board except the 5 v regulator and a pair of bav23s. RS was unable to fill any of my order because I did not have a resale number and they were unable to compute sales tax for my location. I will give it another couple weeks and see what I can find.

Hi Andrew,
Having already bought the chassis for this I'm currently running through the BOM with mouser and have come across a couple of items ( for now ) where the part numbers don't bring anything up or are no longer available to buy,
On the PSU tab
Item 1 shows as restricted availability
Item 6 the part number doesn't link to anything on mouser
On the Line stage tab
Items 22/23 part number doesn't link to anything
Do you have alternative part numbers for these?
Also the BD139/40 will any versions of these work? Same with the LM317KCT will the other versions of this work?

Hello Reddish,
for item 1 you can use the following alternatives (remove the 'MSR' when searching on mousers website)
Item 6 - MSR 603-RT1206FRE07270RL
for the line stage, item 22 use
for item 23 use
you can use any versions of the BD139 and BD140 although I would suggest you stick to ST or ON for quality reasons.
I've updated the BOM and will post it on the site shortly - thanks for your feedback

What? I checked like a month ago and they had a full stock... Maybe they run out of first batch. Maybe @johnc124 can give us some info?Yeah. Don’t know what happened with the JFE2140. Maybe someone from TI can chime in?
With the capacitors on the PSU the 22uf / 100uf / 4700uf is there any reason I couldn't use Panasonic FC or equivalent for these? Has anyone used any other alternatives?
You can use them - Panasonic is a good brand. Just make sure capacitor diameter will fit the PCB.

Thanks for that.
The Lm317KCT linked in the psu BOM isn't available with no delivery dates. Is there any reason I couldn't use the LM317KCS?
Chris, You can use either in the X-Altra Mini - they are the same part with slightly different heat sinks.
So more time to check BOM and order parts for this pre, came across two more components on the Line amp BOM that don't link to mouser, hopefully helps out any builders
Line 19 MSR 603-RT1206FRE072K2RL Ordered 603-RT1206FRE072K2L
Line 24 MSR 603-RT1206FRE076K8RL Ordered 603-RT1206FRE076K8L
On the remote BOM
The led's 604-L424GDT are no longer available at Mouser
Line 22 273-12-RC has a minimum buy of 900 Ordered 603-MFR50SFTE52-12R
If building from the UK and ordering from the JFE2140 from Digikey the 25va transformer is cheaper to purchase from there, also the heatsink for the Psu board.

So I have been burned in the past purchasing semiconductors off eBay, but I did buy 10 of the 5 volt voltage regulators (lm1117 5v). It was a US seller with 100% positive feed back, so I gave it a shot for 10. Is their a practical way to test these? This is the last component I need to finish the build.
Thanks

By the way you could make it a little more clear on the bav21 s orientation, I was able to confirm it with the schematic. It maybe me but the way you displayed the cathode on the circuit board I have never seen before. Maybe some vendors make it in the shape depicted but mine were just rectangular. (This is on the remote control board)

Bill, if you look closely at the BAV21 you will see a line on the package - that’s the cathode. A good idea here will be to get a 5x or 10x loupe - they are about $12 on Amazon.
These parts are really small but the reverse capacitance is very low (1.2-1.8 pF on the Vishay and Nexperia parts) and this is important for low distortion.

I was able to see the faint line and place it correctly, I was just used to seeing a line or block on the board silkscreen. As a practice I like to check components placement against the schematics anyway.
