WTB JBL 2226 chassis needing recone or a pair good used drivers

As title,

I have 1 driver needing a recone. I can either find another in need of reconing (will pay £35 inc postage) or will buy a pair of good used drivers for £300.(inc postage)

Don't mind buying the 8ohm version either.

Cheers,

Rob

Those Beyma drivers are used in many 15" PA scoop bins, including some very big names, so you won't really go wrong.

IIRC the Fs was in the mid 30s, but I remember a huge, (for a PA driver) amount of excursion), so you might be able to get away with a bit of EQ to lower the response.

Hi Al,

Believe it or not I'm planning sealed enclosures. (THX type mids) - they model to a F3 of ~70Hz. I'll be using my tempests below, and hopefully will be building a couple of labhorns over the summer to replace.

Cheers

Problem there is the F3 - nearer 100Hz on the 12" I'd need to eq up the roll off, which adding to the 2dB lower sens of the 12" would mean a loss of approx 4dB - more than double the amp power, for the same spl as the 15"

Oh, and 15's look cool😀

Cheers!
