Just adding a voice that has tested comparing all-analog vs analog->digital->analog. I tested about 14 years ago how my vinyl recordings sounded when digitized by a decent sound card, compared with the original. Honestly, I could not tell any difference. The "vinyl sound" was fully intact. Since then, I have retired my analog crossover, and use an OrangePi instead. My vinyl rips still sound like they did years ago, and the new digital stuff sounds even better.

Yes I also suspect that FJD and I are over-thinking it. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Cheers!

...Your link gives me a warning of unsafe site and Edgebrowser wont let me open...

Seems to be an http vs https issue, and an expired certificate.

The link given was http. Firefox opens the PDF link fine. I'm guessing Edge like to switch to https. When I open the main site in FF with https I get:
"The certificate for Accuphase Laboratory, Inc. expired on Friday, January 12, 2018."

I'm curious about a vendor which has not renewed its https certificate in this https-happy age. But it seems to be a benign error.

What you guys think that Accuphase F-15L crossover for example, can deliver a superior sound quality, when compared with much less expensive pro audio crossovers from DBX, Behringuer and etc?

The F15 appears to be the sweetspot on price range, I read a lot, a lot of good things about it from users...

Would like to know more from designer point of view..

Thanks.

Accuphase would be a safe bet for which you pay a premium. Some midd-priced alternatives will sound just as good but which? The accuphase may have an age where electronics start to fail, but it will keep its value if you later deside to sell. Repairing it wont be throwing good money after bad.
Cheers!

Yes, my main concern is that this Accuphase is from late 80s.. wondering if is a difficult gear to work with, if requeres a experienced technician to repair, in case of need, normally, with a device like this, even if being in great care condition, some components must be chsngeded? Just like the caps on an80s amp for
Example? For what I see it’s composed just by the discrete circuit frequency dividers boards, and the attenuators... what are the expected lifetime for components like this?

Thanks!

Behringers offerings are popular for modding to great performance.\

If we are talking about the DCX2496 then if you are using the analog sections they need complete replacement to make the XO listenable at all. The digital side was a relegation, but newer offerings like the miniDSP offer way more flexibility today.

It has lots of ins, but i will use the Firewire. Has 10 outs, but if you want 24/196 you can ony use 6.

I had the smaller FA66 and know how well these perform. Seems to have the DACs done in a custom FPGA.
