Worst band

Freddie Mercury had an exorbitant vocal range of four octaves, only bettered by Annie Haslam's six octaves.
There are more singers that can do better than 4 octaves if you search. Morten Harket (A-ha) is said to be one at 5. Some can do up to 7. Mariah Carey has an extended range IIRC, but not sure how many octaves.

I am fairly sure Phil Bailey equals Mercury's range.

Pat Benatar another, largely forgotten. Never really understood the benefit of operatic range for rock. For me virtuosity is more a nice to have than need. In genres where it matters Ella Fitzgerald is preferred over any singer mentioned by far.

Saw Steve Hackett about a month ago, for the third time. Played the entire set list of Seconds Out. Was a great show! The only thing that was off for me and a couple of my friends was the sound mix. Some passages were insanely loud, others too quiet
But all the musicians put on a first rate performance.

Early 70s all female band Fanny. Although I have heard some Bluegrass that is a close second.
