As long as it’s one that the tap fits into the flat handle and not into a built in chuck, I applaud your indiscretion. I think it’s called a tap handle vs a tap wrench, not sure.

Indeed @Cal Weldon , A tap handle. Work tools are an easy decision. Hobby gear, sometimes not so much. I never have buyers remorse after a little use though

Yeah today’s was one that I am not sure I have ever actually used in a sentence. The prior guesses had narrowed it down to a slang term that I seriously doubted was on the list, and the actual word even though my confidence was low.
