Thank you Jim, I'm reading your thread, very interesting 👍yes. It is true that there are differences in how drivers sound, but these differences only become important if everything else is perfect. Any of the 10" woofers you are considering could work well, but the execution is what will make it a success or not.
I will take on or two months for look around and study a bit. Some years ago, I've done measurement of my speakers with ARTA and modified a little the crossover given with the kit. About the cabinet, I know it's important and maybe it's the only thing I can do as it should be 🙂
The room... yes, some years ago the system was in another room and I had the possibility to use a plug-in within Logitec Media System software that acts like DSP, first I have measured the room with RTA ant then I've done a digital filter with rePhase... it was working well but today this plug-in doesn't work anymore so I've not DSP to equalize the sound. Anyway, with DSP from Hypex251 it should be possible to adjust, a little, room resonance at low frequencies… While I am looking for 10” I am also reading many of the projects of Troels, many of them are bass reflex, that’s why I would like to replace the bass section of one of his projects with closed box and then add the mid-tw section taking one of his kits, SB or ScanSpeak.
Oh… but it’s not for tomorrow! 😊
Thank you again!
10" sealed
Easy
Cast Frame , Dual Spider which is vented, low inductance copper sleeve /cap
Dayton UM10-22
The apparent inductance is very low with the copper sleeve.
So crossover and and detail to 250 Hz very realistic.
You could easily use a 5" or 4" mid
which makes the tweeter much easier to cross over
Ok, another 10" to bear in mind ! ... thank you!
This one is also easy:10" sealed

Thank you Draki, I have seen it.
Maybe I will go with 26W/4558T00 it's pricey... but I found this test, on Audioexpress, where VD says that "It certainly would be possible to match it to a ribbon driver in a two-way at that frequency (below 1khz) but a more likely configuration would be combining the 26W with a 5.25" midrange and a 1" dome".
Then... I'm studying a bit differences between woofer or mid, 6" or 5", in this configuration. A 6" mid down to 250hz should work...

Hmm , Not too bad.
looks like fun.
Have to load it into the library and do some test run sims.
Cool basket, huge magnets.
I can highly recommend 26W/8534G00. I use two each side in ~60l CB, each pair in parallel on one channel of a Hypex FA123. The drivers got an additional magnet to lower Qes and get more saturation:
They are applied as woofers in a 3 way with Linkwitz transform to -6dB @ 25 Hz and xover@250Hz LR4. They play terrific up to nearly x_mech with very low offset jumping and deliver very clear, transparent and powerfull bass and fundamentals. Have nothing to complain, limitations are clearly dominated by my room.
P.S.: Have an SB WO24P here in another speaker, but I like the Scan Speak better...
