I have WinISD installed on my MacBook Pro 16, via Bootcamp and Windows 10- when I open it, the screen is zoomed out so far that I can't even read it with readers on. I've tried changing the screen scaling, but that just zooms in on a portion if the window and doesn't allow me to scroll to the fields I need to access. Is there a solution to changing the resolution that I'm missing? System preferences doesn't seem to work, what else can I try? will installing an older version help?
TIA
TIA
Sorry to not answer your question, but I did it this way on my Mac

Alternatively, have you tried different compatibility settings in Windows for the application?

I use Wine to run WinISD with Linux. Sometimes I use a magnifying glass to enter data 🤣when I open it, the screen is zoomed out so far that I can't even read it with readers on.
I have a second monitor and what has worked for me is set it up to have less resolution with the same aspect ratio. Those fonts are very pixelated in any case but I can manage.
I set the secondary monitor to 720px width, displaying frequency up to 300Hz and this has never looked better for what I do.
Still running it with Wine, PC with Ubuntu. You can even see the units in this bad quality phone photo.
I should have tried this before.

Windows 10 magnifying glass is pathetic compared to the one in Windows 7. Do you use a third party?Sometimes I use a magnifying glass to enter data 🤣
I dont use the" newer" .7 version
It was nothing but incredible annoying when that came out
and it was many many moons ago.
Basically same program as .5
which is what is preferred.
Far as I remember .7 was just a graphics update
for Vista or higher bit operating systems.
And yes it is beyond annoying.
Use older .5
You can try Virtuix Cad
Has enclosure calculator
and crossover designer

lots of options out there.
People have their favorites or what they
are use too.
So opinions vary.
Winisd is still very useful.
Since it has sum check for T/S parameters
And easy to check manifacture data for errors and fluffing data.
Likewise cross calculate missing values
Can also have multiple projects open.
So can view basic Qtc for a driver.
By having multiple projects open for the same driver.
Virtuix cad can do same thing.
Just not as simple to view muliple projects.
For the most part all you need is Virtuix Cad
from beginning to end of a project.
Baffle sim / off axis data
Enclosure
Crossover design
Values scroll with mouse ( incredible helpful)
Basically many programs have a learning curve.
So might as well dive into it.
Anything else is basically a waste of time.
Then again all software has features which can be helpful.
As mentioned, as ancient as Winisd is.
Can quickly find cabinet Q
Sum check parameters from the start.
And bingo bango, about 5 mins to design a enclosure.
( well only because its been around 20 or so years)
and rather familiar with it.
After few builds under the belt, you dont over analyze
data and pretty graphs.
Like the old days, you calculated QB3 or 4th order vented
and were done. No graphs just spreadsheets

You are correct about WinISD. I think I may be ok with it once I find a magnifier progie that can do spot zoom under a pane rather then follow mouse. Its only the data entry and far top right instant display that is difficult
download .5
see what happens.
way simpler and straight forward graphics.
Essentially same exact math / formulas etc etc

I run winisd in a virtual machine, which let's me dick around with 'monitor' resolutions without affecting the main host and other vms.
Winisd hasn't been updated in years and can be quite clunky; IIRC it never got beyond a beta release and the latest might even be alpha. Other programmes offer more capability these days (other types of enclosure etc, more complete simulations) so i've decided to move on to so.ething more current. But it obviously is going to take a while to learn something new; for now (having learnt its foibles) winisd is still convenient.

Tried version 0.5 but its tiring to look at in its own way. Tried Magnifixer. Sized a small lens window and left it above quick launch. Any where the mouse is pointing shows magnified in this window
Still on the lookout for a magnifier progie that zooms only the area under the lens

It was most likely something in Linux. Right now I''m using Windows 11 in a Virtual Machine and I can change the resolution for WinISD.Windows 10 magnifying glass is pathetic compared to the one in Windows 7. Do you use a third party?

I had the same issue till today.
I finally found the solution (at least on my Windows 10).
Here it is :
Search for WinIsd.exe or the shortcut link to it.
Right click / Properties / Compatibility / Change high DPI settings
Choose High DPI scaling override performed by System or System Enhanced
This should bring a more usable display for WinIsd.
thank you so so much!Choose High DPI scaling override performed by System or System Enhanced
