William Cowan and Tom Danley Featured in Stereophile

LOL…they make a mean vegan brownie in that cafe.

Last time me and the wife took a ride up was last Spring.

We got to see the studio outside town and listened to a project that was still in the works the previous visit (pic).

I think you had done a bit of refinement to the horn design that I actually heard.

I think what you guys are doing is really fantastic and it definitely inspires me to pursue some version of this concept for myself in the future.

Thanks! BTW how much for the B2 and which model starts at 5k?? 🙂

Of course I asked my wife about the speakers, as usual and she said those look great but it is all about the speakers and the room as a system so I will have to provide the acoustics as well… And a fireplace too… Sometimes she can be a great motivator.

Haha, they jumped the gun on the $5K model. We are targeting that price point with a new bookshelf model, but it's likely a year out.

I'm not sure about the pricing on B2, I keep out of the business side and stick to the engineering. Drop A For Ara a message, they should respond quickly.

new bookshelf model
I saw these in the listening room…wish I had a chance to hear them.

I’d be interested to hear more about the later.

Especially the CNC’d throat adapters you guys were using with the coaxial compression drivers.

I was wondering if you’re using the coaxials and adapters in the newer monolith or bookshelf designs…or just petal horns?

There was a short conversation about the adapters, but I couldn’t completely wrap my head around what was being achieved with them.

The Instagram makes me want to sell my house and buy some speakers lol

I got to do a studio visit and hear these in person. It was a remarkable experience.

They threw out a sound stage that completely enveloped you.

I actually thought I heard sounds coming from far corners of the room behind me at one point…not as an echo, but as if they originated there.

2nd pic is of me lying on the floor beneath one speaker…3rd is up inside the speaker.

They were driven by Hypex amps. With about 1 watt of power the bass coming out of the bottom was making my chest feel like my heart was palpating.

If I had a way to own them or something similar I’d do it in a heartbeat.

Hell, I wish I could get my hands on your Cosynes Patrick. Unfortunately I’m on the wrong side of the country.
Peace of art! Interested in xover points.

I hadn’t checked in for a while and I really liked the look of the newer site version.

Just so its easier for you guys to find more to drool over.

This really is the stuff of dreams. I completely lost myself during the visit.

Rob and William are both brilliant in their own ways, yet completely down to earth.

I’m just an average guy who got to live a fantasy for an hour or so.

The throat adapters are simply a way to separate out mids and highs from the coaxial driver. The coax is only used on the petal horns.

Did you get the chance to listen to B2
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to hear the B2. I hope to in the future.

I try not to make too much of a nuisance of myself.

This is what I was guessing…similar to how the ports for mids and highs from seperate drivers would be tapped into a Synergy.

I just wondered if that messed with the time alignment and/or created some kind of acoustic bandpass that you were after for the mids.

I have a pair of the B&C 4590 and some horns to play with, but no throat adapter.

I couldn’t even hope to create anything similarly complex on my old manual lathe and bench top mill.

Still, I wanted to have an idea about what was gained by using them.
