I like deep bass, but only at enjoyable listening levels, to me the extended bass adds more spacious 3d sound
Wind noise can cause hearing loss just like excessive exposure to loud music can. It was reported that US drivers tended to experience hearing loss in the left ear, and British drivers in the right ear. It was attributed to driving cars with the driver's window rolled down over a period of years. Obviously, since the widespread use of car air conditioners drivers no longer need wind blowing on them to stay more comfortable on a hot day.

I am guitarist and it takes quite a punch to hear over my stack when I get wound up.
I have called the cops many many times on these nasty rolling rattle box's and nothing ever gets done about it.
I have even been arrested and put on probation for yelling across the street begging for them to cut it out and throwing a fit in my one yard !!
But Yet, I am the one whom gets punished and fined for it !!! :angery:
My system was/is rather large for your average home.
But, NO One, NO ONE has ever called the cops on me through the years because I don't play Garbage through my system, AT ALL !!!
All they play is garbage and it is noise and has absolutely NO amount of musicability what so ever to it, I don't care about what Anyone claims that it is!!!
It is not.... MUSIC !!!
Hey don't get me wrong I do like some of the old school stuff that came out in the 90's but very little of it at that.
They want to call it music just because there are some instrument in it, Well, Most of it is all sampled and stolen from somebody else work !!
NOT ONE of them can hold a note or even sing ON KEY let alone not actually being able to play any single instrument AT ALL !!!
I would rather get out my signal generator and listen to sweeps and test tones before I will listen to ANY that GARBAGE !!!

I do like that kind of stuff too but I don't listen to techno (actually not techno but you know what I mean) very often, I was just a kid when synths came about and Switched on Bach was one of my favorites !! 🙂
It is almost like the Chemical Brothers or Fatboy slim or something, you see there are lots cool sounds and frequency's in that stuff not just some over bloated distorted kick drum.

It kinda faded away; I cant remember what happened to it nor the components. I remember getting an Olds Cutlass afterward with a 350, upon overhearing a conversation in the lab where a tech was saying "32k miles, old lady driven to the grocer". It was true!

Whenever I have an excess of wind, I open the car window!
A common thing for back-seat passengers to say whenever the driver's window is down on a highway:
"Squeeze the breeze!" (please put the window up)
So it's the variation in pressure that causes the damage not the actual pressure itself?
Pretty sure it's just the wind whistling past your ears. If you have big ears like me, it's quite noticeable when cycling. I suppose an extreme pressure differential could cause damage, possibly?

A policy I can get behind, personally I think that the ‘exaggerated bass’ trend brought focus and attention to the somewhat anemic and inaccurate low frequency response of most ‘hi-fi’ of the time. So instead of ridiculing the young wiper-snappers you should be thanking them every time their cacophony rattles your windows.

I listen to jazz and classical music, sometimes ethno. None of them needs deep bass. The first time I felt the desire to have deep bass was when I saw Koyaanisqatsi (with Philip Glass' music) in cinema. Then I bought the LP and wanted to reproduce the same at home. So I built a 220 liters (7.8 cubic feet) ported box. But now over 65 I don't feel it so important 🙄
Perhaps that drum kick bass music in car is just kind of tranquilizer (however contradictional is may sound), it sweeps out the traffic annoyances, like others on the road, red lights, traffic jams. It helps keeping all this out, providing a private sphere.
