i wonder y there is INDIA only at this forum from south asia.where r other countries like pakistan, nepal, sri lanka, bangladesh??
Many factors are involved here I think.... numbers, availability of internet, language and culture. There are also very few Japanese for instance.
Compared to the countries you mentioned, India has a big middle class and a lot of those speak English and have access to the internet....
The IT sector in India is growing like mad, with internet growing congruently. The company I work for had 14 000 applicants for around 150 job openings!!

Hi,
I don't think audio as a hobby is the first thing on everyone's agenda in some of the third world countries at least. India is a different story, a rapidly growing economy gives rise to opportunity in new fields.
Thanks
Raja

FYI, dfdiy did indeed make his/her post from China.
We have several members who are resident abroad, and post from there. Maybe that is the case.

From my communications with my DIY Audio friends in India, it is really a very small number of people doing DIY Audio even in India- especially considering the size of the country. They ones that post here generally help each other track down parts. It seems there are few businesses catering to the DIY crowd there. You know best of course- being there and all!

yup!
there r few,but there r.but our neighbours?
u know,my country got all.great quality too.but 4 bulk only.we have to work hard to locate sources who can give good things in trifles.
i strongly disagree that few do diy in India.
i know many people who do diy,its like that they lack internet[24hours like me] or r reluctant to b online to share experiences[not that they lag in eng. or r poor]so it would be proper to say that few r online for DIY.
It could be that India has stronger historical and cultural ties to the UK than the others, and might therefore have a greater percentage of people who are into the hobby. Now that India is developing a lot of economic ties to the US as well, the process is likely to be accelerated.
All those people going back and forth, back and forth between the two countries. Maybe not so much with Pakistan, Nepal, etc.

Chalk and cheese
The listed countries have differing social and economic features, so I don't know why you are trying to compare them. If you must, then let's widen the area to include China. China's diy community dwarfs that of India, but since English isn't their lingua franca we get few Chinese diy'ers; they have their own forums.
