where do I get this gasket tape?
and again if I use this tape will it raise the woofer off the baffle?

After selecting / designing the right gasket, be sure to bypass it entirely with solid metal screws connecting the motor to the wood. 😎

If I put a gasket on my drivers and tweeter...
Full disclosure please - tell the members the make and model of your speakers!
my drivers are SEAS made custom for proac.
they are from the prestige series.
the tweeter is a scanspeak 2406/8300

Yes.

2 mm thick, but will compress down substantially.

too bad I don’t live in the UK.
I think this would work and not raise the woofersThat was but an illustration!
P.S. I wouldn't use sealing strip as your drivers will certainly stand a little proud.

Black neoprene close cel door sealant from home depot. I have never had to buy stuff from audio shops.

if I put light gaskets on my drivers what should I expect to hear in differences ?
Speaker manufacturer Q Acoustics decouple their tweeters using a gasket which they claim "ensures the vibrations from the woofer, which can impair the performance of the tweeter, are isolated allowing the tweeter to perform with dramatically reduced interference, resulting in a purer sound."

Gaskets of woofers and tweeters seal the enclosure for good bass response and avoid chuffing sounds of air whistling through gaps between driver and box.
Does not apply to tweeters that have their own enclosure, of course.
Bass reflex tuning can be difficult and frustrating with air leaks other than the port!
(Air leaks lower port output and raise helmholtz resonance frequency)

- Why do some tweeters have gaskets and others do not?
