Why Class A? Wasting power is something of the past

Notice the picture i posted of Mr Bush raising his hand to say he's a Class A guy too didn't pass the mod examination

and yet they left in the one of you with your shirt off.....

if they're going to censor you, it ruins my idea for a new thread "Jacco's funniest posts....."

well, anyway, I'm glad you explained that he was raising his hand to say "I'm a class A guy", 'cause I thought he was raising his finger to express his Texas oil millionaire feelings to the statement "wasting power is something of the past..."

Given that this is the Pass forum, maybe it would have been more appropriate to ask "does anyone here actually own a class AB amp????"

JJ on too much caffeine

Hands up how many people making comments here actually =have= a class A amplifier, huh?

Well, excluding preamps, of course...

Two stereo single-ended 6AQ5/6005.
One stereo SE 6BQ5/7189A.
One stereo SE 6V6GT.
Two stereo SE 7695.
Two stereo P/P 6BQ5/7189A.
Two monaural P/P 6BQ5/7189a.
Two monaural P/P KT66 Williamson.
Two monaural P/P EL34 Dynaco type.

What's actually in service most of the time? Usually one of the 6AQ5 SE amps or the 6BQ5 SE amp for the medium and high frequencies and one of the 6BQ5 P/P amps for the low frequencies. The KT66 and EL34 amps are overpowered for what I need most of the time.

Try where engineering units are millimetres and metres but the schools teach centimetres.
that's a teaching gripe I have against most of my colleagues. It's a carry over from SI units used by the scientists in the schools and changing from Imperial units to Metric units. The poor suckers thought and still think that SI is the same as metric.
I teach my pupils to use 1000 multiples ALL the time, although we generally work exclusively in mm.

I've also had a medical training, 5000ml is common in the medical field, using different units is confusing and consequently bare an increased risk of error.
Any QA/QC engineer who's been reading too many ISO900* protocols may agree.
Overhere, MW/GW are the production output units and KWh is the standard consumption unit, i'm programmed not to punch 14,400
I'd prefer to talk in 10E numbers as it grows on you after a Q of a C, no easy/fast way to plug it into a post on diyA unfortunately.

(G Dubya has a "Crude" sense of humor which i find very refreshing for a politician, his raised finger could have expressed that "wasting power on foreign soils is something of the past")

Me thinks that spending 2 to 3 hours in the livingroom with a pizza oven is more eco-logical than driving an automobile 30 miles from home base to catch the last picture show at the cinema, mine does 10mpg at ~$8 the gallon.

(my adolescent abfab car in 1978 was the Lambo Cheetah, 2 years later i visited the factory in St Agatha Bolognese, received a VIP treatment and was taken for a drive on the track in both the Countach and the LM002 by the Lambo test driver Mr V Balboni. The LM002 is still the most impressive vehicle ever, has a rear transmission shaft diameter that's totally out of this world, has been tested by the Belgian army to tow a 40 ton weight Leopard-1 tank at 30mph. My willy hurts every time i see an LM002 or a picture of it but would never buy one because the fuel consumption can go up to 2.5mpg)

Extreme long life relays, developed for and used in the Leopard-1 tank, current small order retail cost estimate +$1250/pc.
Far more ego-shagadelicate to use in a Class A armored tank, baby =>
