I'm putting a smilie right here . Is it there? If not, why not? I don't use them a lot, but it seems like when I try it, it comes up in my message box, but not in preview or on post.
I have the "disable smilies" box unchecked. Is there something else I need to do?

Do you have some sort of script blocker running? If so, you might have to create an exception or two for diyaudio

So, it's the same ones missing and the same ones there. So, webmasters, what's going on? Any idea? Must be something on my end...What's in common with the missing ones?
When I look at what you have typed, I don't see the corresponding smiley type, just the word, nothing after it to indicate the smiley.
Cal, I'm not sure what you mean. On post 3, I typed the name of the smilie and then clicked the smilie in. On post 5, I skipped the name, and just clicked the smilie in, but in the same order. The blank lines should have had a smilie. Am I even using them right? I assume you just click on a smilie and it goes to where the cursor is. That's all I did. When I look at what you have typed, I don't see the corresponding smiley type, just the word, nothing after it to indicate the smiley.
They are missing the colon on each end. I fixed eek in post 3 - "wink" does not seem valid, it should be 😉
cool vs 😎 etc.

Oops, now eek is gone (there's supposed to be a frown here)

Just for (supposed to be three grins here) I tried IE (I usually use Firefox). Same problem.
I'm going to another computer now.

We overlapped. I just click the icons and expect them to go where the cursor is. I wouldn't even know how to type them in. (embarrassment smilie here) (clicked in)Are you typing them in by hand, or clicking on icons?
Well then I don't know. Never seen that before. Do you have similes turned off in your profile settings? Or in the post itself?
Yeah, I know, they work well for you sniff. And C2CThomas's did too.I'll test my similes.

That's why I figure it's on my end, but why just some of them? I don't think they've ever worked for me because I don't use them often but I can remember some that didn't work in the past. I just didn't worry about it.
Look down on the lower left of this browser window where it says "Posting Rules". Are Smilies ON?
