Tweeter waveguide ? its among my favorite for sound quality
Karlson's X-15 speaker system which used an internal slotted pipe tweeter
it looks like Walter Zintz's Transylvania Power Company ads started around 1979 (?)

Hey Freddy: I am using a pair of double cutaway K-Tubes on a set of EV DH1A on top of a pair of Klipsch ten inch woofers (KLF20) as a three driver two way using Klipsch CF3 crossovers. Have been considering going back to either a scaled Karlson or a K-Line of some sort. Best regards Moray James.
one thing I've not tried - - take the pipe, slice it at an angle. Glue on a flat piece then cut the aperture. This by Karlson theory would aid in dumping the energy at the end. There's a Bose patent which kinda shows it.
I'm not a good enough craftsperson to make a cut - I think it would be like below but add the flat plane then cut the aperture
a tube larger than the compression driver's exit will probably be rough. A conical adapter section would help.

lol, I just discovered Bose's patent this afternoon.
If anyone wants to check it out, here it is:

Here's a pic of the device in action. See that compression driver at the top of the TV?
