On the bench tonight is the BTSB buffer with LME49724 output balanced driver. It really can achieve 49vpp for 4.9Vpp input with 20dB gain. This is more than enough to drive 0dB gain amps like F4 or MoFo.
All with 12v wall wart PSU. Need to use balanced input and output though.

I do a single ended one that makes 70V from 1V in (onset of clipping - normally I put tail resistors to reduce the gain to ~mu=6)... From a 12V brick (and a DC boost converter that makes 560VDC) 🙂
Your board is much smaller though 😀
EDIT: Ok - 69.3V LOL The fuzz is from the spaghetti wiring I connected this with and the fact it's surrounded in LED lights.

I also have the Aksa Lender preamp that does it with 5 discrete and DCDC boost supply at 52v.

Ya, I highly doubt my circuit is as clean or low noise, but then again it's a single MOSFET per channel in a circuit with crap PSRR 🙂I also have the Aksa Lender preamp that does it with 5 discrete and DCDC boost supply at 52v.

It's actually designed to attempt to replace a 6SN7.
The BTSB Panel Mount with OPA1637 also delivers the goods. Also getting 49Vpp.
Reduced the Oscope built in function generator to 4vpp gives a clean 40Vpp output:

How do you turn a rectangular bezel into a standard round bezel? With a custom made CNC’d aluminum adapter plate of course! This one turned out real nice. Satin bead-blasted finish with black anodizing. Makes mounting this AMT tweeter so much easier and it’s looks nicer too. Plus the round bezel allows more room for a foam gasket for a nice seal. I had one 3D printed in plastic for the initial XO development but this one is pre-production fit check and it looks real nice.
I will have to try this one one day. I got all the parts, except in boxes who knows where 🙂I also have the Aksa Lender preamp that does it with 5 discrete and DCDC boost supply at 52v.

I need to do my research into X's head amps and line amps that are capable of running as a head amp. I have a friend who is a humongous headphone geek, he has a massive collection of headphones, plenty of amps and dacs, etc. But I would love to one day surprise him with a high fidelity head amp that can drive his HE-6's.
Hi Bloqhead,
If you want one to drive HE-6, try this amp:

Great thanks X! Is there a whole kit-and-caboodle board like in the first post, or at this point should I just pick up the DC Coupled Amp board off your etsy store, and pair it with something like the Yarra PSU or a cap MX psu?
You can get these amp boards to start. Find a clean +/-18v PSU with at least 250mA of current.

Of course this would be the ultimate PSU, but it’s rather complex and expensive to make.

Thank you so much, starting to gather up a list of bookmarks to shock my pal. For the PSU this might be a job for the AMB Sigma22, I've had great luck with that in my Krell KSA-5 clone.
Also, don’t forget about the HyperDrive-2 if you just want to have a top performing hybrid headphone amp with tube input and 2W class AB solid state output.
This is one of my favorite preamps and is an excellent headphone amplifier too. It needs some mods to boost current and reduce voltage to work as headphone amp though to keep the heat output down.I will have to try this one one day. I got all the parts, except in boxes who knows where 🙂
HyperDrive-2 uses a SET tube buffer and class AB output stage using TPA6120A2 chip. It can deliver 2W into 32ohm load.
Just completed one of six I'm building this week. LS3/5a style cabinets with modern ceramic coated aluminum drivers. The first pair will be up on eBay in a day or two.
