I want to build my own Projector and have been readind about what size to use. I can get a 7" wide screen lcd for $119.00 would this be good or should I get a bigger screen like 15 - 17". If so how do I use the bigger screen? Do I need an Over Head Proj.?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are several options for using a screen. I have built two projectors. One uses a projection panel I got off ebay and I have had great results with. I have also used a desk top monitor and the quality is very good. It is just a choice of size vs. quality. If you use the smaller screen you will have less quality, but a smaller projector. It is basically your choice.
If you had a link to the 7" screens that we might be able to tell you more about their quality.

That 7 " monitor may not even have good enough Specs, As in Pixles I would venture to say that Unless its 640x 480 you might as well save up for a better monitor or look on ebay for a lcd panel. Just my 2Cents
Size really does not matter that much. All you want to look at when buying a projection panel or lcd monitor is the resolution, the minimum is 640x480... That will give you a nice looking image, The contrast ratio, 100:1 is average for projection panels, 300:1 is average for copmuter monitors.
Thanks to you all for your help. Below is a link to the 7" screen. I actually found it from another post, but they did not have the specs.
So if I can use a 15" lcd. as long as it is a 640*480.
