I meaned : is it not difficult to measure and time setup when the close side wall gives faster reflected sounds ?
Just measure at listener sweet spot, setup the curve and FIR et voilà ? (= any good speaker enough are getting much better with DRC and best practices ?) !
I often see the members whom get active stuffs have lesser quality amps & sources ?
No, DRC automated for the masses is all wrong Junk. Dont trust advertisers.
And yes it is true that dsp users tend to overlook any thing else.

The APL_TDA plot I showed shows all reflections in my room in those first 25 ms. Except the ones I introduce myself (ambient channels were off).
Now tell me what is "a better quality amp", can we all agree on what that amp would be? Any suggestions? 🙂
I plan on trying a different amplifier at some point. I've got my eye on the FO1.4 L (for Large, as in more powerful than my current ~100 watt amp)). But I need to save up to get it. Can't afford it right now. I'm open to sponsoring though (lol). I promise to do a review 🙂.
For now my old (but recently serviced) Pioneer A-757 Mark II will have to do. More about the reflections in my thread as it isn't relevant to the current off topic content. How about those LX521 speakers? 😀

Nothing about DRC-FIR is automated. You can (and should) change everything about it to suit your own setup/target.
Nothing I use resembles one of the pre-sets that come with the (completely free of charge) program. I agree there won't be a one size fits all kind of solution. Nor is DSP a fix it all solution. Without room treatment I couldn't achieve the same results. The room is a big player. Usually an underappreciated factor on this forum. Get the room and speakers to work together... like the LX521 is meant to work.

Yes I wa talking about manual EQ for DRC, not automated !
Amps ? DIY : I just don't understand how are wired your 50 drivers so I dunno ! But good reviews for the FO indeed, also the one made by Roender member. Another is The Slewmaster "Snoopy Linch" and for maybe less (less stuffs arounds) : The My Ref Fremen 9e edition" !
Do like me, I hit old ladies in the street to steal their handbags ! That's Boris who said me it's how he will do with ELisabeth II ! (do you think it's not a futur sucessfull punk band ? "Boris & The Queen" ! )

The typical before/after hair restorer selling proposal. Nothing new under the sun, DSP really sucks for this kind of naive hype...😀

Enough said, fix your curves like the pros, lol...
Btw, does Floyd Toole really support the project, or only receives a fee, or simply gave his agreement for being quoted by those guys to help them sell their stuff...🙄

A Typical Scenario
As we can see, frequency response is far away from being linear. This means that music played back is altered, some frequencys are boosted while others are almost not audible. If you’re a professional trying to fix the curve of your monitors or a PA with never reaching that great sound, there is a solution.
APL is the Solution
With a comprehensive range of APL products you can obtain a precice curve of your speakers with ease and create a suitable digital equalizer to achieve a perfectly balanced, linear frequency response for your speakers. This way you can achieve the most optimal sound that your speakers can provide.

So you tried it to see what it does? 🙄
I only used the free demo of APL_TDA to create the plots I posted. I just fired up the demo and made a plot. It's free after all, anyone interested enough could do the same. I asked jim1961 to do the same (run the demo) out of curiosity what a good room looks like.
I haven't used any of the processing (yet). I may try it at some point to see what it can do. I did like the demo. Mainly because it confirmed what I found/saw in REW. In REW I had to look real hard to find it. APL_TDA (the demo version) gave me a plot of what I was looking for.
Here's the link to me trying it out. I bet Raimonds was a little surprised to see my plots. As I didn't use any of his software to get there. He kindly offered me a full version of his software to try it. I have yet to find the time to do that.
I like to be in control of what's happening. This software suite is a more 'closed' solution.

No thanks! I can't stand being treated like a pro...
Serious stuff though...😀

I believe it's connected series parallel but Wesayso also has a nice impedance flattened circuit in there.
You might want to check out the VHex+ and (larger) amps by vzaichenko. Original current drive topology that is low noise and very clean. I have it and it's the best amp I have heard.
