You might ask how I know they're bad. I am getting full +rail DC offset and you can see right above the "V" there is a small bulge. The other one has an actual hole in that same area where the piece blew right out.
Abletec.com does custom power supply design work. These are most likely custom chips and unobtainable. http://www.abletec.com/
Yeah I checked out the site yesterday and that's exactly what I was worried about.
Was hoping there would be a generic version.

No luck with PacParts. What blows my mind is the fact that they would have a custom IC made for a 500W entry level amplfier. I don't get it.
Did PP say that the part was not available?
Got 1 here with what i suspect to be the same problem.. Full -57 VDC on + speaker output.
Any updates? It would be interesting to have schematic. If someone have, pm me.
Schematic available on pac parts under service manual. I think it was like $15
Hello,
The IC is a part# 82028H18193V78 . Your cost is $15.08 plus S&H.
You can order online at Consumer Electronic Parts and Accessories at PacParts, Inc.
This is the email I got today. Ummmmm $15 for one IC? $80 amp used. Not worth fixing. Parts pile. 🙁

I believe a IRS2092S will sub in place but have not tested it yet.
Pioneer D8601 uses that IC. I have 1 amp that needs that. Have 10 on order. I'm beginning to think the one I have is ok. I took apart a completely working identical amp and compared. All measures the same. Replaced a IRF4321 and I no longer get DC offset but no audio yet. Lmk if you try it
Troy what is Q3005? Its 6 pin like an OP amp or something.. Mine gets SMOKING HOT FAST.. -49 vdc on speaker +. Part says T2 33 on it.. I assume 33 is the week in the year?

Do not use a IRS2092 in place of it. The Pinout is WAY WAY different. It'll cook it in a matter of seconds 🙂
I fixed this amp. TL494 was bad. Up and running.
I dont want to start topic, but anyone knows what kind of zener is in ZD4501 ?
I have it shorted. PP shows that they dont have in stock service manual.

Trying to be helpful, IC3601
Excellent. Thank you. Did you buy the schematic? I have 2 more of these amps still I need repaired. 🙂
From the original amp I repaired I removed this IC. Did some checking and knew a 2092 wouldn't work there. The Vcc com etc were all in wrong spots.
What's the marking on top of the zener you are curious about? I don't have an alpine on the bench right now to check. Look up the diode marking on this website. It'll tell you what it is.
