And everything becoming crab.

At first I thought the word "crab" was a typo, but it seems there is a well-documented phenomenon called carcinisation where animals that are definitely not crabs somehow keep evolving into crab-like organisms.

In October 2020, the term became a popular discussion over the internet, spawning many parodies of the evolutionary process of turning animals into crabs.

You may remember the launch of NASA's first planetary defence test mission, Dart (Double asteroid redirection test), which took place on 24 November, 2021.

The objective is to crash into asteroid Dimorphos at around 14,000 miles per hour to see how much the impact changes the orbit of this small asteroid around its larger companion, Didymos.

Well, it's almost time for the show, and Dart is due to impact Dimorphos on Monday 26 September.

This has all the treats of the infamous frog conundrum in Australia 😉

More... "The plan backfired completely and absolutely. As it turns out, cane toads cannot jump very high, only about two feet actually , so they did not eat the beetles that for the most part lived in the upper stalks of cane plants. Instead of going after the beetles, as growers had planned, the cane toads began going after everything else in sight–insects, bird’s eggs and even native frogs. And because the toads are poisonous, they began to kill would-be predators. The toll on native species has been immense."

The growing number of low-Earth-orbit satellites is making observations from the world's telescopes more difficult.

The attached image, released today by the ESO (European Southern Observatory), is of the 434 light-years distant star, Albireo.

Has the Internet's greatest Cosmological thread descended to the level of monosyllabic Twitter?

Really, somebody ought to say this!

I, as a Mathematician, was deeply interested in Galu's presentation of two orbiting stars. Which resemble the Bohr Atom.

Naturally I can solve the Einstein Black Hole Metric easily to the Schwarzchild solution:

Simple matter of 2Gm/c^2 r. Wherein the zeros and infinities lie.

Hope that clears it up. No need for Quantum Gravity whatsoever. Brought to you by Ubuntu Linux. 😎

The ESO says that as many as 100,000 satellites could be placed into low Earth orbits by companies such as SpaceX, Amazon and OneWeb in the coming decade.

More stats on satellite constellations here: https://cps.iau.org/

Even Hubble, which is in a low Earth orbit itself, can be affected by satellites crossing its field of view.

According to the IAU (International Astronomical Union), "An unpolluted night sky that allows the enjoyment and contemplation of the firmament should be considered a fundamental socio-cultural and environmental right, and that the progressive degradation of the night sky should be regarded as a fundamental loss."
