Cornwall is a bit of a dump IMO! 😀

I don't know why the Cornwallians rate it so highly. 😕

Dug up a few pictures of the far more interesting Scilly Islands for your entertainment.

Naturally as a Londoner, I get bored with the the wet and damp and boring countryside very quickly.

Not many people know this, but there are no Foxes and very few cats on the Scillies. Birds just have a great time. Friendly as anything. The hedgerows are infested with stick insects. The vegetation is quite Jurassic Park. I was also fascinated by the 5-fold symmetry of the Monkey Puzzle trees.

Apologies to the denizens of Penzance, 'twas St Ives where I experienced the summer gale! 😱

When the sun shines, St Ives is lovely.

P.S. It seems this thread has turned into a travelogue! 😱

Far-fetched as it may be, I do possess a picture of Harold Wilson's graveyard on St. Mary's. Twist my arm and I can turn it up. 😀

My Dad always detested Harold Wilson. Considered him an utter moral coward. Always detested SOCIALISTS!

Anyhoo, just to cheer us up in these horrible times, here's me old lovely Norwegian Elisabeth.

I bought her the Tahini. She always thought her stomach stuck out too much. But, TBH, I don't see much wrong there. Bless.

Galu, maybe, a universe expanding beyond its limits, inflating into homeostasis or collapsing into nothingness, is just another figure of the absolute and too close to the metaphysical domain that it could be avoided to follow it's STRICT and necessary connection to travelogues here? Let us remember what the French philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas had to say about the absolute: for him, the absolute was nothing but the infinite resposibility for the Other.
As proper empirical researchers me must acknowledge that we will find the answer about the state of the absolute (expanding, collapsing, multiplying) on a travels alone, where we encounter the Other(s) and will be exposed to a high dose of the absolute. A very good condition for proper research, I suppose.

Also, this mussels on the space rocket debris stem from a collision with the absolute, when the rocket touched an analema over Zennor!

Who'd have thought a Space Rocket would wash up in what looks like New Grimsby, on Tresco! 😀

Notorious wreckers, the Scillonians. There's not much else to do on Scilly. The bakery and the Pub and gig-racing is about all there is.

Back in the day, the Scillies were marked 10 miles wrong on the map. So Naval convoys tended to hit the rocks unexpectedly and disasterously.

Causing much alarm and distress. Happily I am a good seaman, so not much of a nautical nature phases me. Except sharks. Horrible things. I worry about them. 🙄

Delving deeply into the archives, I have, er, "Dug Up" a picture of James Harold Wilson's grave on St. Mary's. I like the old Graveyards in some macabre sense.

Peaceful places. Quite sobering about our journey from the cradle to the grave. Lovely flowers. Personally I want to be cremated. When I am gone, I am gone. 😀

I have attended more Funerals than I care to remember! 😱

But as investigative Journalist, I always pay close attention:

The worst Funeral in the history of the Universe was that of Guillaume Le Conquerant.

He was too big for his Coffiin. 😕

Undertaker put his foot on his stomach to fit him in. Unfortunately William's stomach exploded. Filling Westminster Abbey with an Evil smell. We all ran running. 😱

I always thought Harold Godwinson was my sort of leader. But that is History. We lost. 😀

Let us remember what the French philosopher Emmanuel Lévinas had to say...
He said "Au moment même où tout est perdu, tout est possible." (Just when all is lost, anything is possible.)

He sounds like a glass half-full kind of guy.

My glass is not only half-empty, it's also cracked and leaking. By always anticipating the worst, I'm rarely disappointed! :geezer:

I can tell a tale about Byng Way in Portsmouth.

Admiral George Byng was sailing his Naval Convoy past the Scillies one dark night.

Unfortunately most of his ships foundered on the Bishop's Rock, west of Agnes. 😱

He should have been Court-Marshalled. But got away with it. 😀
