Apropos Rien (Apropos Nothing). I know where the rainiest place in Britain is! 😀

Yep, it's raining: Why am I unsurprised?

It even rains there on a sunny day from a clear blue sky. It's called Shap Rain. I don't make this stuff up.

Actually there are parts of Britain where it's dry as a bone!

I do not want to ever visit Essex again:
Maybe just me. 🙂

Food is actually quite good in the UK. It’s a myth that it’s bad. Plenty of world class chef’s and good Restuarants. People visiting laugh at ‘fish and chips’ - fair enough, but no one eats haute cuisine or foi gras for lunch every day in France. Food is an art form in France (like Japan) but that doesn’t mean its bad everywhere else.
To think that a black hole or black body, as I prefer to call them, is a portal to a wormhole leading to an other environment/universe is just plain silly and yet one twisted result of the lethal combo of math and a desire to make a name for oneself (early "influenser?).

Nothing surprises me weatherwise in Britain. 😀
But this one was an adventure I was up for.
For some reason I started in Moss in Norway for a day trip:

Jumped onto the hourly bus to Oslo. Then caught the Train to Bergen:
It was raining in Bergen. As everybody told me it would.
On returning to Moss late at night, my Norwegian friends thought I was looking a bit glazed! Well who wouldn't be?

There are few surprises weatherwise in Scotland!

Furthest North I have ever ventured in Britain is Carlisle. It was getting Chilly. Decided to head South again. 🙂
Where in the World is THIS?
Norway!
Surprised me.

Ex Machina
In this science fiction thriller (2014), programmer Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson) wins a stay in the private retreat of the mega rich company boss Nathan (Oscar Isaac), where Caleb has to carry out a Turing test of robot girl Ava (Alicia Vikander). A large part of this film takes place in a hi-tech property in Alaska. The mysterious setting in the middle of the untouched wilderness in the film is actually Juvet Landscape Hotel in Valldal, north of the Norddalsfjord, in the Western part of Norway, approx. a 90 minute drive from Ålesund.
This unique and isolated hotel is embedded in a breathtaking landscape with a fantastic view from the super-modern and individually designed chalets. This tranquil place is located between the UNESCO world heritage Geirangerfjord and the dramatic road and viewing point Trollstigen, and can be reached by driving the Norwegian Scenic Route Trollstigen.
Surprised me.
Best Regards from Steve in Portsmouth, UK.
I did detect a couple of Plot-holes in the Movie.
Surely the Helicopter was expecting to pick up Caleb? Not Ava?
How did Ava recharge her battery once leaving the Research Facility?
Did you finish the Film?
I watched Ex Machina late last night. You were correct, it was pretty dire! However, in answer to your questions:
I think that scheming Ava was perfectly capable of convincing the helicopter pilot to take her away instead of Caleb.
Ava would no doubt use her well demonstrated problem-solving abilities to work out a means to recharge her batteries.
More interestingly, when Ava put on her dress or 'skin' her breasts became noticeably smaller! 😀

Certain general relativity solutions allow for the creation of Einstein Rosen Bridges (wormholes).
However an Einstein Rosen Bridge would be so unstable that it would be worthless for travel.
Wormholes are purely hypothetical. No one believes we’ll locate an Einstein Rosen Bridge anytime soon.
French military victories......😍A couple of time via England, and I made sure not to stop for food.
PS,
France, World leaders in arrogance🙂

No culture is foolish enough to exist for centuries and not have good food. Its the integral part of our daily life. And to not acknowledge this fact is pure ignorance.
