JMO, the best parts of that old Zenith are the power trafo and 250 mA. 5U4GB rectifier, which energized both the amp and tuner preamp chassis.
If the LF extension is limited by a 1 pole RC filter with a F3 of approx. 30 Hz. is placed at the circuitry's I/P, tolerable performance could be squeezed out of the O/P "iron". Remember, the lowest note a "standard" double bass plays is 41 Hz. The mass needed for full bass extension is (unsurprisingly) not present.

A 9 pin rectifier is likely the 150 mA. 6CA4/EZ81. 150 mA. is not really enough for a stereo PP 6BQ5/EL84 plus small signal setup. Remember the PSU also powered the tuner/preamp. The photo of a very dusty chassis sure shows what looks like a 5U4. I see 3X 9 pin sockets per channel in the photo and that makes perfect sense.
The O/P "iron" is not total crap, but it definitely has significant limitations. IMO, an excellent use for them is in guitar amp builds. There should be no problem using 6V6s too. Another possibility for those O/P trafos is in a 6 or so WPC triode wired "El Cheapo". The "iron" should be reasonably close to the Fender Deluxe replacement stuff originally called for.
