I am unable to download anything. I have been a member for about 15 years and not abused the site.
I am looking to buy a Denon DRM 800a or the DRM 700a cassette deck. Can you please post the service and user manuals if you have them please? The 880a seems to respond well to mods.
Thanks

Found what appears to be a DRM800 service manual. Not the greatest scan. https://www.audioservicemanuals.com/d/denon/denon-drm/212580-denon-drm-800-service-manualI am looking to buy a Denon DRM 800a or the DRM 700a cassette deck. Found an 800A here: https://elektrotanya.com/showresult?what=DRM+800&kategoria=All&kat2=All

I think we should get a hold of the owner and offer him some money. Over the years I've found his site very helpful.
Problem with the site is that I can not find out how to get a hold of the admins... even to offer to help them with a donation!

I am not sure but someone has mentioned vinyl engine owners name in the past. May be someone who knows him can contact. Another good resource for magazines is worldradiohistory website.
regds.
regds.
It appears both sites are owned by the same person, an Englishman who can act like a brat.
It does seem he is cash starved, and due to other commitments, not paying much attention to these sites.
Try a whois: search, at least the web hosting service admin people can be contacted in this way.
That screening is done by a lot of web service agencies to protect the privacy of the real owners.

Not very detailed, the domain name management / registrant is an American company.
At least it is a start.

I own a domain name... my family name
Have it registered since the mid 90s. And I took it private a long time ago.
There is a good reason to keep such info private, you can not believe the kind of phishing I get from people claiming to be the admins of my own mail and web servers... when in reality I AM the admin. If you look at the "links" they offer me to "take care of the issues before I lose use privileges" I can see they are flat out phishing attempts.
And I do monitor the classic abuse and admin mail addresses for my domain. It's an implementation error not to do so. People registering and hosting domains with sites that have no clue ( godaddy ) and they themselves don't know how to properly manage their site.
And, in my web page, I put up a link to a script that will send me direct email if there's a real problem...
When we created the Internet we underestimated the criminal intent of a big segment of mankind and the stupidity of so many users.

That's a bit harsh and I only have gratitude for the information he supplies. It's his site and is entitled to run it as he sees fit.It appears both sites are owned by the same person, an Englishman who can act like a brat.
He could solve a lot of issues of costs and downloads being siphoned off to other sites by a pay per download or an annual fee with X number of downloads. Personally I would hate to see it disappear.
I also am grateful for some information off the site.
The problem is that copyrights are valid for 75years in some jurisdictions, the moment a fee is charged to distribute what is someone else's property, you will need clearance from the original owner...and what will you do if the owner is a defunct company like Sansui?
A library or club like model may work, and international laws can be complex.
He (I assume male owner) has been arbitrary in cancelling access and so on for people who do not use the site regularly... so the word brat was used.
Anybody know the female version of the word 'brat'?
Anyway, his choice, really... we can't do much about it.

For what it's worth, the site is very particular about how inquiries are handled.
At my work, I cannot access it, due to the server gateway. At home I cannot access it due to the fiberoptic router gateway.
But, if I disable the Wi-Fi on my phone, and connect via phone line (modem?!?!) it works. I can download to my phone and then email to myself or whatever.
That's the only way I can access the site and I've been a member (and contributed some things I had they didn't) for 25 years or so.
Your mileage may vary. Batteries not included. Your parents put it together.

Assunptions, the mother of all $u*k ups 😉He (I assume male owner)
Yes, brat. Brat.Anybody know the female version of the word 'brat'?
I can log in but I can not download...
Sorry but the download server is closed for maintenance, please try again later.
Over the years, I've added a few reviews. Last one was this year, an update on the L810 speakers.

Interesting. I just logged on and was able to successfully download a McIntosh document. I did get a "verifying browser" notice before the download started so it looks like some changes have been made to the way the site operates.
I’d you don’t get the verifying Browser text you will not get anything. So, that’s a good sign.
I wouldn't mind if it were a subscription service or something. Though as someone else pointed out, it might get sticky with charging a fee for copyright material owned by someone else. I dunno. Not my wheelhouse. That's a bit harsh and I only have gratitude for the information he supplies. It's his site and is entitled to run it as he sees fit.

It's a great site for when you need a SM for a one off repair. I buy paper manuals for units that I know I will see more than once, like most of the popular receivers/integrated amps from the major Japanese manufacturers of the '70s/'80s and things like that.
If nothing else, the owner of HFE could just put out a "tip jar". I'd kick in a few $$ every now and then.
