No, you clearly didn’t pay attention and failed to read the Tubelab test. The Edcor XSE15-8-5K has a frequency extension of 70-18k. It’s really best suited for a guitar amp.
The Edcor products with 40hz extension are an excellent option. That’s what the poster asked for and I answered it.
Raise your hand if you’ve built and tested with Edcor, One Electron and Electra-print.
I’m raising mine, are you???
I really do not care which model, my reply was about that strange theory on transient response in that link you put that really does not make any sense. Raise your hand when you have understood....
Isn't AnTek (antekinc.com) good for audio?
Their power transformers are solid. I haven't tried their OPTs.
Same can be said for Toroidy: Transformatory toroidalne - Producent transformatorow Toroidy.pl
Tom
There aren’t that many things that can be done differently when winding a toroidal transformer. It will all boil down to the materials. Chances are Antek is using the same type cores for theirs OPTs as they do their power trafos so don’t expect any expensive exotics. They haven’t been offering purpose built OPTs very long and it will take a while to build a track record, good or bad. Many users have reported acceptable results just using their power trafos turned around in reverse as OPTs, so a regular silicon steel core in that configuration will work. I wouldn’t expect them to compete with the best of the best but they are probably as good as any at that price point.

I understand that you have problems with the author’s theory, and you explained ad nauseam why. The problem I see is much greater then this or even this thread.
Over many years on these forums you have been both acerbic and demanding of others to come to your way of thinking. You drive through these threads like a freight-train insisting your point of view is correct. Your attitude towards others is both tragic and farcical. This is a very poor way to go through life.
Your are clearly a bright individual who would be much better served and heard by simply stating facts. Show some decorum and manners and answer the OPs question(s), sticking only to facts.

I don't have a problem, that theory is just wrong. You started questioning, quoting and I just reply. It's clearly you having a problem and continue insisting.

What is happening at One Electron? Suddenly, the UBT series has disappeared. Does anyone know the situation?
Much thanks,
Chris

I think all transformers manufacturers are facing problems with this COVID situation.
Transcendar was mentioned in this thread some days ago:
Capability of Sony/Tamradio SE Output Transformers
I went and have a look at their website and I thought I would inquire for a couple of models. But after few days I found they are not taking orders for the time being.

Magnetic Components Inc. (One Electron) announced they are closing their doors late last year, November I think.
Another option that has not been offered is Transcendar. Last I checked, they were one of the few companies still doing custom mains.
