Re: spooky!!
Escuse me Mr Bob man, but if you look at the photos (take the clamp off your head first) you will see, that it is fairly obviously the same piano... I think the clamp effected your eyes.. 🙂 my eyes are good, and blue.. what was the topis of this thread again?? 🙂

Say, is it the same piano in the two pics or do you collect 'em? 😉

Yeah, they're both the same one. It's a Heintzman upright grand from the 30's. I don't have it anymore, now I have a Beckwith which used to be a player piano but someone gutted the player mechanism, I think I'll put another in it later. Soon I will be collecting pianos, I like to tune them and do service. I also play the piano, taking conservatory grade 8 right now.
foolish fool.......
Mr Skinny,
Excuse accepted, I hope you pardon me as well............😉
My eyes are OK so far....... 🙂 And at least I got it halfway right:
Duo, piano tuning and service are probably a nice hobby. Do you intend to go for a job of this kind, or would you rather like to follow in Horowitz' footsteps?? 🙂

I suppose you wear your court jester's hat in real life. Also, on your door- bell it probably reads "village idiot" ?😉 🙄(take the clamp off your head first) you will see, that it is fairly obviously the same piano... I think the clamp effected your eyes..

lol, I think neither really. I enjoy repairing pianos but I'm more into electronics/aviation. I've played the piano for the past four years and don't intend ever to quit. I guess that the combination of my pickyness and DIYness has inspired me to learn to work on yet another type of mechanical wonder. Just recently I spent 13 straight hours of work on my piano completely rebuilding the action. That's not to mention about 8 hours tuning and another many to come doing fine adjustments and little detail repairs. I enjoy working with my mind and hands and the piano service exercises that very well. I tune pianos for my friends and do repairs, my ear is picky enough since I play and I'm an audiophile.
Perhaps I might start a little thread on the topic of piano work and see who else has tried it on for size. I've got some scary pictures of the thousand or so parts I took off the action and put into categorizes mountains! All completely hand made of wood, pins, felt, buckskin, and glue.

Cockpit suits that computer station thing
Very well. why the need for three computers though + TV shureley the computer screens give better resoulution. although it looks very cool😎 😎 😎 it seems to be a bit over the top

Humm...here's mine, more or less.
Onkyo TX-2500 on the left, sitting on a 1959-or-so Magnavox console speaker.. dual 12s, 3" tweeters (coaxially arranged). That cabinet is the one which used to have the power amp, tuner and TT in it. Now it just has my stereo 6V6 SE, which also powers the two speakers (see opposite below the 1979-or-so B&W TV that I watch Simpsons on 😛 ).
The computer is a P2-233 and a "SAMPO/AlphaScan 15" monitor.

TomJ, you think my "cockpit" is overboard in that pic? Wait till I'm in my new BC house and all setup. I have about 20 computers and a bunch of radio equipment. Also, I have a pile of rackmount equipment that you'd see in the military that looks cool too.
...it's terazo flooring... from the 50's.
notice the BOSOZ pcb art in the lower left hand corner?

Seems every forum i go to has one of these threads 😉
It is a bit different now, a lot more mods to the cases, and various other things changed about (and more messy because more stuff 🙂 )
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
