Will fix me a long drink from vodka and some kind of tonic water - Schweppes Russchian + vodka. (Odd spelling, not mine)

No entity, however well intentioned, can control the supply chain from a source that no longer exists to the consumer. There are bound to be a few middlemen, some of whom could be dishonest.
Or perhaps your systembolaget buys directly from the closed down distillery?
Probably from Diageo, the owner of the closed down distillery.

I just checked the Systembolaget website. Port Ellen whisky is supplied by Diageo Sweden AB, so no middlemen in the supply chain.

This line, and your photo, reminded me of a verse from a great little tune by the late, lamented Walter Becker, who left us this past year. So long, Walter.
A glass or two of Mosel Reisling from the Molitor vinyards.
They have some good Riesling. Probably 2 of my top 5 list if there was one, not #1 though.
gifted by my mom for birthday - Victoria Distillers Premium Oaken Gin - very nice sipper it is, too
TBH, I don't. I only use a little sugar. I think that's why I can have a big glass. So thats where all the eggnog goes. You must have some sweet tooth.
Speaking of "The Irish" -- "Green Spot" is very nice, but about ~$60 for 750ml. The fellow who runs the local liquor store makes a special effort to keep as many varieties of Irish whiskies as possible in stock.
There are 3 varieties of Indian single-malt appearing at "Bottle King" in NJ.

Cal - do you use lactose free dairy in your nog? If not you're still getting some "ose" - but of course, you know all that food chemistry stuff.

Polar Seltzer : Refreshingly Natural Sparkling Seltzer Water
I am thinking about getting a soda fountain or beer cornelius kegging system, just to make DIY seltzer. Nothing hard mixed in, I just like the bubbles.

A glass (in total 1/2 bottle) of Sicilian Nero d'Avola - Manifesto.
We found this kind of wine/grape when touring Sicily a few years ago. It's fullbodied and very intense but not as heavy as Amarone.

Heard a humorous story this morning from an elderly customer, describing his first visit to a Starbucks with his wife, having received a 15-dollar gift certificate for Christmas. After two coffees and a couple of "egg-like" breakfast biscuits, the GC is a fading memory, plus he had to go into his pocket for a few more bucks. He was at a bit of a loss for words. Doesn't sound like they'll be regulars. 🙂
Chris, if such an animal exists, I hope it doesn't wander within range of my rifle. Lactose free dairy?Cal - do you use lactose free dairy in your nog?
