I've been running FF85WKs in desk top scenario at home and work for a couple of years now with Topping TP30 - plenty of power for the particular application, and the USB input is totally OK. Does its DAC sound as good as that in the PURE 120 Doc - maybe? Do I fret over what I might be missing? Not any more - there are far more important things to worry about - health of family and friends, for starters.
Nearly five months! I hope you are doing well, Dave!
Personally, I'm a digital amp fan... tho I have an expensive tube amp/preamp combo sitting unused (Cary Audio SLA70mkII and SLP-94).

Is that the presence of our much missed friend that I see?
Welcome back Dave! 🙂
Indeed

Yup, 5 days short of 5 full months - months away from anything approaching his old mobility / stamina.
While none of my tube gear is of the same prestige as yours, I couldn't agree more - digital has so much to offer at often stupidly low prices. How much does a complete re-tubing of your Cary set you back?
Welcome back home Dave,
You and Ruth have been through too much and Godspeed on your recovery. I must say, it's fantastic to see your posts again...we've all missed them and you for too long.
Best wishes,
Mario

Vertical. For the same reason an MTM should not be sidewise or that the tweeter is above or below the midbass.
