This cost me peanuts and I now plan to dismantle it to try to fit it instead of an eyepiece to work as a guidescope.
The guidescope software (PHD2) will recognise some cameras and hopefully I can kid that on that I have a proper guidecamera fitted. The experts over there should be good at holding my hand.
Resolution is not too good (the highest goes to 640x480 and the digital zoom does not show the pixels), I think the software is interpolating between the sensor pixels to give more apparent detail than it is actually detecting.
But even 480 on a sensor 4.8mm tall (8mm diagonal) is 10um/pixel. Good guiding cameras use 3.5um to 5um/pixel
