Hello.
I am building a new system.
I am planning on using a Meanwell 24v SMPS to power:
Tent Clock (10-20V)
Monica 3 DAC (18V)
Twisted pear MUX digital reciever (5-12V)
Nelson Pass B1 Buffer (18-24v)
I am looking for adjustabe voltage regulator modules to supply each of the above at their required level, with the minimum of noise.
For my last project, I was lucky enough to find a couple of Audiocom INVISUS super regs cheaply, but my current budget does not allow for these new.
I have identified the following as possible candidates:
Low Noise Regulator
Voltage regulator board for HiFi HiEND Audio Rubycon ZL on eBay (end time 07-Dec-10 16:46:56 GMT)
Voltage Regulator Module Board, Based on LM317, 1.5-27V on eBay (end time 28-Nov-10 10:11:10 GMT)
Please could members comment on the expected qualities of these, or suggest others? They need to be relatively compact (and good value).

4 Salas type Shunt regs, each set to suit client circuit.
Quanghao sells a PCB with 4regs on 1pcb. They can be split, each have their own AC to DC PSU.

This one should fit the bill:
Voltage Regulator Module Board, Based on LM317, 1.5-27V - eBay (item 130459533322 end time Nov-28-10 16:02:54 PST)
or, if you need dual polarity supplies:
Power Supply Board Kit, PCB, Based on LM317 & LM337 IC - eBay (item 260484989112 end time Dec-25-10 09:17:36 PST)

Well, I have actually bought 4x: http://cgi.ebay.com/Voltage-Regulat...322?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e5ffe800a
They were very cheap: £6 inc shipping.
However, I have just come across Andrew Weekes Super regs: At-Tunes: ALWSR
Would these offer a useful improvement?
Perhaps only for Clock and DAC?

These work with raw AC from a transformer, not the DC output of the Meanwell SMPS.

These are the ones: They are ac/dc input. You had me worried for a bit.

Peranders has contacted me and suggested his, which look awesome.
SSR01 Sjöström Super Regulator
I am likley to choose this route.
The pcbs are about 20EUR. How much would the components cost for each board?

Sorry about that. I didn't look closely enough.
If you have these already, you may want to build just one of Peranders for comparison. Use both on the same device you want to power and decide if there is a notable difference.

Here you can find measurements done by jackinnj.

No offense meant, and I'm in no way suggesting that those Ebay regs are anywhere as good as yours.
All I'm saying the the user may not actually hear a difference when using one to the other.

It's hard to say where the technical limit is. LM317 will probably do as a very minimum requirement.
