has anyone used this tweeter with or without the matched waveguide? or maybe some measurements to share?
Here's the links:
G 25 FFL - 8 Ohm | Visaton
Waveguide WG 148 R | Visaton
Can't help you directly here. But obviously this soft dome does work with that waveguide.
You might find it in here, complete with modelling for the waveguide, which is useful if you don't just wing it:
2 Wege – Boxsim Projektdatenbank
Ooh look at that! Second one in the list! Studio 2. 😀

thank you very much, but i do not use boxsim so i can not open the project file.
i have the waveguides, i bought them to be used with seas 27tff but they where a poor fit, maybe they will work better with a tweeter it is designed for, but one can not be sure

I was curious enough about this to look into fixing that waveguide to myriad tweeters:
SoundImports | "Wave guiding" your favorite tweeter. - SoundImports
Now something there doesn't add up, because AFAIK, the 27TFF and the 27TFFC have the same front plate. 😕
But it seems you just drill new holes in the plastic waveguide and use woodscrews:

Can't be hard, can it?

Heissmann acoustics has some tricks to mount driver too.

the fit between waveguide and tweeter front plate is poor with seas 27tff which gives a quite poor frequency response, my hope is that the visaton tweeter has a better match, some measurements could show this

my measurements are not anything near those, they look almost ideal, mine looks rather poor
To get those nice measurements you got to remove the Front plate from the tweeter and mount the Waveguide with an adapter directly to the tweeter.
The list from SoundImports is totaly useless, because its only regarding if the tweeters fit mechanically disregarding the acoustical compatibility.
Bestr regards

thank you! do you mean i have to replace the frontplate of my seas 27tff too?
do you have experience with the visaton g25ffl with or without the 148r waveguide?

that i can answer myself, i just found out when i tried to remove the frontplate that the dome and voice coil part is monted directly to the frontplate
Same here.... I have the WG148 too... could not make it work.my measurements are not anything near those, they look almost ideal, mine looks rather poor
But the Seas DXT setup.... this works for me... and the measurements looks very close to his too 🙂
thanks, good to know! 🙂
i just did some dirty measurements on some tweets, laying on a thick rugg facing upwards with handheld mic at roughly 0 / 30 / 60 degrees and 20cm distance
maybe i should get a pair of dxt to try out
