VintageAmp if you can find some 2N5566s I would need two pairs.
Thank you very much.

Can you use a matched pair of 2sk170's N JFETs in place of the 2N5566?
certainly yes, taking care of differences - Idss and max Uds
if LTP - biased with CCS (either active or resistor), difference in Idss is no issue
increased xconductance leading to increased OLG
anyhow, that's where you can try stash of 2SK170GR Toshibas you have
though, there you can apply all 2SK246Y you have ...... almost 100% drop-in replacement regarding Idss, while xconductance higher enough than you don't need to worry about amp behavior
Very cool. Thanks! The GR's are cheaper than the BL's too. It looks like the gate lead would have to be bent.
Can I write to this addressI currently have a order out for quote, as you know 2N5566 are now hard to find.
vintageamp@surewest.net.?
Thank you.
I have 2N5566 Using the SK fets requires matching 2 from many and the pin out is different, so a dancing cowboy lead arrangement must be done to use these.
Hi Jon,Hello folks, I am still here working hard to keep old equipment up and running. I have had quite the drama with keeping my .net web site, so recently went to onbizmap.com and facebook. Visit that if you would and help it get moving. I get many scam calls, please leave a good message.
Is your business contact info available? I own a forte model 3 and would like to inquire regarding upgrades.
Thanks,
James
Allow me to add that I have never heard a complaint from any of Jon's customers.

@VintageAmp the link in post 32 takes me to a Google Safe Browsing page, found what looks like the same URL by googling vintage amp repair and that link works.
