Very simple quasi complimentary MOSFET amplifier

At start up i hear nothing.
No thump,no hiss,nothing!

I wonder what is different. After reading this I removed the protection circuit and powered up directly to the speakers. Both channels do exactly the same thing. A kind of sizzle sound for about a full second ending with a faint thump. My board matches the schematic in post #675 except for R5 is 51K and I have a blue LED in place of D7 which is giving me a measured 3V drop. The amp plays perfectly otherwise. I don't have anything in C8 or C16.

He does not hear anything because he has gone out to play footy with his mates and his wife always follows around turning off his gear.

:whazzat:
To be clear.
Sorry,i said that i hear nothing.
I say again,i hear nothing, but i see that the cone of the woofer has been moved inside instantly with power-on,this movement isn't audible.

Yeah, mine is more in the tweeters. It almost sounds like oscillation but it is only for a second then all is quiet. It won't be an issue since I will use a protect circuit anyway. I just think it is important when testing to report all things abnormal.

Hi all, I was about to hit the order button a couple of weeks ago but the updates were coming thick and fast!!!

Anyway if we can confirm that the PCB 's are now finalised I'm happy to place an order. I'll be building the on board filter one. As I say, if it's confirmed as finished.....

I could order both.... I did get a price from 1 PCB place and aside from the freight the board cost was under 10 dollars, that was for 2oz copper as well.

Are the boards ready to go????

Which PCB fab house is giving you 2oz for $10 - do tell please.

Choose shipping by HK post instead DHL it's cheaper and fast enough.

Oh, thanks for the tip - funny it wasn't an option before but now seems it is. $14 vs $21 so $7 off...

I am sticking with 1oz so order is now $10+$14=$24, very reasonable price for qnty 10 custom 100mm x 100mm 2-sided boards.

This is for the allFET Circlotron btw.

PCBWay have very good online service too; I deal with Angel Yu and her English is perfect and she seems to have the ear of all the technical people too. If there is a problem on the pcb, such as a track too close to a pin or pad, they came back to you and ask you to check.
This is fantastic service, because unlike the broker companies who farm out their orders to other companies, THEIR company does the manufacturing and they want their product to work well for the customer. I suspect that because of economies of scale this is the reason their prices are lower, and they can move around the price of their products to offer special prices from time to time.
I have three pcbs under manufacture with PCBWay right now; I have had very good service for about three years now. Can't speak any more highly of them.

Ciao,
Hugh
