Confused No More
I am very confused, PLease help me, Any ideas ?
Buy the following books and study intensively.
1. Designing Audio Power Amplifiers (Bob Cordell)
2. Small Signal Audio Design (Douglas Self)
3. Audio Power Amplifier Design Handbook (Douglas Self)

You cannot set the bias on the gates to 'some voltage' and expect it to go OK. There's too much spread in the devices. One will barely conduct at 3V, another will short at 3V.
The usual way is to use some source resistor so that when current starts to flow, the source voltage will rise and automagically limit Vgs and thus the current.
You have a simulator - use it. Measure the Id when you switch it on in the sim. See what currents flow and your eyes will open!

Whats the problem when there is no problem ?
I have managed it to work and it works brilliantly with thermal fb.
i dont like source resistors since they are powerful ones and thermal fb is superior. Im new but my common sense is superior too.
Also think they worse the bias that way. Pushing it down.. and distort came out @ high currents, wtf ??
even somewhere readed that thermal fb i more sensitive and need to be less. that mean source resistors are more more bad.
only use when there is no tfb but i think this is very bad. cause thermal runaway depends on temp rather than current 😉
Maybe they may be good in lateral mos design when there are no tfb.
If u want to use power resistor use it at the output as LPF with a cap to ground. And use it as in-rush resistor @ mains of the transformer before relay kicks in and power starts throught the relay instead of the resistor, instead it will burn ur house when you sleep in it listening to good music

My bias voltages are ok. I have 100ma current and amp sound very astonishing. You cannot set the bias on the gates to 'some voltage' and expect it to go OK. There's too much spread in the devices. One will barely conduct at 3V, another will short at 3V.
I think both of u didnt read the success part of the thread, there is a video too.
and sound quality is good recorded in the video. telephone's microphone is good. and quality is awsome..
P.S. here is it if u want to make one 😉 just use +-24V instead +-37 like me.
Its because i dont have another transformer
P.S.2 just use different fb, this is for +-2V
P.S.3 look i biased it class AB and waveform is little down,
from TINA i know that 9540 have higher Vts than 540 => this class AB helps that non-equality to be equal. i dont examined how much but i trust is very best 🙂

This TROLL has been leading Forum Members by the nose for ages , this is just his new fake account.
If you don't get his very obvious clues, then you are blunter than a rubber knife.
Ok, remove "If" and "then" 😉

wtf ?
fake accounts, maybe you are the TROLL 😉
this is my first account bro 😀
