Stamps are $1.07 here ($0.92 if you buy a booklet).
Even with the dollar exchange, we are getting the shaft yet again. Just like cheese and so many other things.

Wow!
What a ripoff! 😱
Not so long ago, USPS was pretty good in my neck of the woods. Now, not so good.
I go days at a time where I receive nothing but junk mail - nothing but flyers and advertising. First class mail arrives only 3-4 days a month. I've been waiting for checks for over two months now. I wonder if they'll never arrive.
It's just another step on the way to becoming a banana republic. The US of A is stuck on stupid.

The reason that junk mail is so reliable, and regular mail isn't, is that junk mail is processed by the person producing it.
IE, if you want to send mail in bulk, you have to complete all of the processing on your end. That's why the rates are so cheap.
Back in the day I used to send out catalogs via bulk mail and it was just *unbelievably* inexpensive.

Don’t even ask about gas prices.
OK, since you asked - just over a week or so ago, price on Vancouver Island went up $.10 / litre overnight. Anyone familiar with this as one of my favourite peeves will understand that amounts to over $.40 imperial gallon increase.
Ah, the joys of west coast life - almost said Great White North, but that’s almost a dog whistle these days.

Maybe if you payed a little more for stamps, your postal service wouldn't be 160 billion dollars in debt.😕

Since I've been working from home since the end of March 2020, my gas consumption has dropped probably 95%. So gas can double in price, and I really couldn't give a schiit.😀

Maybe they should manage their money and operations better.
First class mail in the US has traditional been inexpensive compared to other major nations. Parcel shipping was somewhat lower, but not a lot. First class mail is (or was) subsidized to a great extent by junk mail.
Parcel shipping via USPS has jumped by leaps and bounds. International packages are very high compared to just a few years ago. Anyone who sells online knows this. It's tough.
When I started using USPS Priority Mail it was promoted as "3 pounds, 3 days, $3.30". Adjusted for inflation that would be about $5.70 today. You can't ship 3 pounds very far for that these days.

I've had no trouble diverting the funds to audio toys.
It's a win win.🙂

Since USPS shipments from Madisound are unusable now, I ordered something from Solen. According to their website, it would take eight days to get to me.
It seemed a bit silly that a shipment from Canada would be faster than a shipment from Wisconsin, but whatever.
Then the delivery date kept slipping, and slipping, and slipping some more...
It turned out that the package from Solen took 24 hours to go from Montreal to New York... and then was handed off to USPS.
Now it's just in limbo. It appears that the package has been sitting in New York for the last 12 days. Every day I check the tracking website, and the location never changes but the delivery date is just pushed back further and further.
Just a ridiculously terrible level of service.
My package has now been sitting in New York, collecting dust, for seventeen days. ("USJFKA" is JFK aka New York City.)
It took one day to get from Solen in St Hubert Quebec to NYC

Likewise, last update of my Madisound order was 14 days ago - "in transit".
By the way, Patrick, you should be able to stick that tracking number into USPS now and finish tracking it from that end.

That is Canada Post tracking system, that is usually never up to date, if a package is shipped into the US. Try using the same tracking number but using USPS tracking system instead.
What do you guys think the chances are your package will be lost? I have a package that was shipped Dec. 21st from Oregon.
I'm waiting for a pair of original JBL 4315 crossovers from John 'hcsguy' over at LH. I got blind sided. I realized right after he shipped them. Too late. They're insured but I really don't care about that. Good luck finding another pair of those.
Hang in there and be patient for starters. Whining does not make it arrive any faster, in some cases you might be jinxing yourself 🙂
I have been dealing with Canada Post for a while now, as a seller and a buyer. Most stuff goes to the US. I can say if I see something go through NY it is worse than if it goes through Chicago. Detroit was a big problem too.
As long as you have adequate insurance you are okay, without it well you could be at a loss. This is why I am reluctant to ship regular air mail to EU etc. since there is no insurance and tracked/insured is very expensive.
I had one sent to Iceland, in early March, it was reported as lost, got my insurance settlement. person in Iceland said he got it in mid June. Canada Post sent me an email last week saying the package arrived 🙂
Bottom line, if it is important and expensive, use FedEx. I refuse to use UPS as a seller and only as a buyer if there is no other option.
