"Priority Mail International offers outstanding value and is priced lower than our competition's published rates for international shipping. Average business day delivery of 6 to 10 days. (Average number of days may vary based upon origin and destination.)"
Now that we're on day seventeen, it might help if they ACTUALLY STARTED SHIPPING THE PACKAGE.
It's kind of hard to hit that 6-10 day delivery goal when the package is sitting in some bin 4000 miles away.

I have found that tracking that looks like it is sitting somewhere is erroneous. It's probably somewhere else, but the system has lost track of it. That doesn't help, I know.
Buying off eBay and other sites when you live in Hawaii makes one familiar with tracking and how stuff sits around in warehouses. It's maddening.

USPS has a package for me listed in transit since December 31, 2020.
Mailed from ME to CA. It says it was due January 4, 2021 and is late. Obviously. No other information is available.

I haven't had an USPS shipping update since it left Florida (going to Northern Mi.) six days ago. This morning is shows as arrived my local post office and out for delivery today.
Guys, don't ever try the South African postal service then. Ordered PCB from UK in April 2020 - still waiting (either stuck in C&E but most likely some SAPO warehouse). Other stuff from UK, and Holland via different route arrived. Though the DHL (Holland) item lay around in Germany for three weeks.
Roughly 5 years ago ordered some LPs via Discogs. Thought them lost after 6 months of no news. Then received them 3 months later - package very much abused. LPs survived though. Sender in Canada was very pissed off.
Kevin
P.S. How badly are USPS employees hit by the pandemic BTW?

I work at a huge hospital complex in Michigan in plant engineering / maintenance. We currently have 21 people who have covid in the hospital down from low 50's a month ago. My friends wife works for USPS as a sorter. No covid issues with local USPS.
Got a package in transit at a different office than usual since late November.
However they are not unable to locate it...
Others cleared customs early December and stuck that way.

I received a package from NYC after buying the item over the weekend! NYC to Southern California in less than 5 days.
The Elektor kit that I mentioned in post #71 departed Germany on Dec 19. There has been no tracking information posted on it since until today. It is now at the USPS center in New Jersey, and should be here in a few days.
The shelf it likely sat on for about 3 weeks belongs to the US Customs and Border Patrol, not the USPS.

I purchased two transformers from Antek and had them shipped by USPS. I ordered on January 4, they were shipped on January 5 with no tracking number, and I received them today, January 19.
So two weeks from New Jersey to Vancouver, including customs clearance.
Before I received them today, I was starting to think that I should have had them shipped by UPS. The initial costs were approximately equal, with USPS a dollar or two more expensive. I would have received them quicker if I had chosen UPS but I would probably have had to pay a brokerage fee and taxes. Canada Post and Canada Customs did not assess any fees or taxes on this shipment.
So in the end I only had to wait two weeks with USPS and I didn't have to pay any extra fees. 🙂

My package from Elector was shipped from Germany on Dec 18. It finally materialized in New Jersey USA on Jan 13. The USPS showed an expected delivery date of Sat Jan 16. Well, as expected that didn't happen. Now, no expected delivery date is shown at all and it looks to be still in New Jersey.
My other two missing boxes turned out to be the fault of the supplier, who often blamed the USPS. I finally canceled one order, and received the other after 8 months.

I bought some transistors from a surplus dealer in southern California on January 15, and they were in my mailbox shortly after noon on January 19.
I just shipped some drivers from MA to TN. They arrived on time and intact. My incoming mail arrives promptly. I think USPS performance varies a great deal from one district to another. I suppose I'm lucky in that mine seems to work fine, but I do have the unpleasant side effect of all my bills arriving promptly ;-)
