It's not true of all scientists. A few at the very top of their fields, literal global leaders, spoke out loudly during 'recent events' and were silenced, ignored and fired. Examples were set. To answer your question. yes. Some smaller commentators did platform them and raise their voices, always tiptoeing in fear of censure and demonetization. Matt Taibbi speaks well and often about this dynamic in his field of journalism.

I wasn't talking about religion from a moral perspective, but an anthropological one. These people are trying to take over science and rewrite history. I am genuinely interested in the cognitive process that motivates them to do that. I think it's a form of tribalism. How about you?

Really? In my own country we had multiple sightings (one with radar echo), had been exposed to the 'vague Belge' too ( early 90's)... We have an organisation who study this things seriously ( Gepan), some high grade military had open letters to ask for serious research about it... Overall all European country had their share of Ufo.
