Everything is DIY except the HP mini PC. DDDAC 1794 (4 board DAC with output line transformers), Aikido cathode follower (6N6P tube buffer) as a preamp, Leach 4.2 LowTIM amplifier, speakers with Vifa NE225, Vifa NE123, Fountek NEO CD3.0 and Visaton G20SC backfire tweeter. VDH cables D102MK3 and SCS12 bi wiring. Supra USB cable.what gear do you have?
speakers , amp etc
The Marantz CD63 has been redesigned but is no longer used. For CD transport I use Pioneer DV300 modified DVD player.
First plot is FR rasponse at 1m, second at listening position (2,5m). Red-righ speaker, blue - left speaker.

I do not recognize any DAC as an audio device if it is not NOS (non oversampling) and filterless. So the choice fell on DDDAC 1794, it's an angry machine. I am currently making a NOS DAC with AD1865 to have one in reserve. That also sounds very good and it is very simple and cheap with JLS I2S over USB board. With the DAC you have, and all others you tried, it's clear to me why the sparkle is missing.biggest let down was the Denafrips. That was a $3500 DAC.

im telling you the Marantz is the brightess of all those DACs I mentioned.
i haven’t tried a true NOS DAc. The Denafrips is not NOS
I’m a bit of a bass freak. 🤣
everyone like bass. It’s a given.
lol
whoever has a their bass level with what is above 300hz is a liar.
lol
1/24 db/oct smoothing in Holmi Impulse softwareno smoothing at all?
1/24 db/oct smoothing in Holmi Impulse software
thats really good.
i think you can go to 1/6th. Lol
no one is gonna accuse you of cheating.
ha
we aren’t hearing any of those details at 1/24.
good for deep analysis tho
The old ones were Scanspeak 21W8553, Seas 11FM, Dynaudio D28AF and Visaton G20SC (8 ohms all). The new ones are Vifa NE225W08, Vifa NE123W08, Fountek CD3.0 ribbon 7ohms and I kept the Visaton G20SC. I reworked the crossover for the new drivers, the boxes were good. What drivers are those in your speakers?
Closed i think. 🤔Are the measurements with the door open or closed?
I would put a panel on each side behind the speakers. Not all the way down.
will do wonders for imaging.
trust me
if you haven’t already tired it.
right up to the tv edge.
2” thick at the most.
doesn’t need much. Just for the highs. The image will focus like crazy with them.
put blankets or towels on the wall to test it.

yeah those super lows are going riiight though that door. Lol
my room has the same crap.
try hanging some blankets folded in half so they are bit thick behind the speakers
like this.
got nothing to lose.
try it

Trust me with the blankets.
i may not know about crossover like you guys. But trust me on the acoustics
just don’t let the blankets go too low.

Google ‘room modes’. About the only reasonable way to deal with those in a living room is using multiple subs, carefully positioned and eq-ed.my room has the same crap.
