Hi
I nowadays got my hands on an old suspended project. It was an instrument cabinet.
And I still have an unresolved question about its xovers.
If I divide HF out of a 2 way xover in to two, via an other 2 way one, I would actually make a plain 3 way one, right?
Here I want to divide HF shelf which starts from 3.5 kHz into two with 5.0 kHz cut point.
Looks simple but I'm still suspicious 🙂 Like, does it cause phase problems etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
You will end up with very little output from the 6A, it is essentially
superfluous. The APT with the right horn can work with the right
bass driver at either crossover frequency. the croosovers cannot
be used together in any effective manner I can think of.
🙂/sreten.

Well.. I got my inspiration from this "Figure 3" at http://www.trueaudio.com/st_xov_1.htm and I thought my combination may work.
But of course you're right. There's indeed a little output from the mid driver 😀

At last I managed to draw a schematic of my combo
I hope It makes easier to notice any significant weirdness in the wiring.
To me point A could be connected to point C instead of B : ) without any effect on frequencies, coz first two caps in the line have higher values than the ones at HF filter.
Cheers

Hi again
Could someone please recommend a measurement software to check phase response via a sine sweep (freeware if possible 🙂 ). So this way at least I can be sure about whether polarization of my speakers right with this xover mod.
I use RMAA for other measurements but it doesn't have this feature I'm afraid
Thanks
