A USSR speaker being restored.
Fascinating drivers & crossover > I think the cap's are even oil-filled.
Interesting to watch.

To protect it from physical damage. Possibly even by bears; I quite like the mentality of engineering in that area of the world - I believe it would now be called Latvia, though stand to be corrected.
Interesting indeed! Pictured below, the Radiotehnika S-90B.
From 1980. Very industrial looking!

Not strange, just some speakers from the '80s
The restauration part, I really don't mind.
Who asks for metal grilles, will be rewarded
Also some good Police in this
These had a Visaton midrange, with cone plastic cup on the back

Active speakers from USSR.
Drivers are same as in S-90 only woofer has feedback sensor installed.

The older RCF drivers that made it across East German lines in the 80s weren't half bad. I used to buy a version of their 6.5" from Conrad Electronics in Munich when I was a teen. They worked well in a 30 ltr vented box with a larger tweeter and had decent xmax.

Although sticker on the back may say RCF, the drivers are RFT
Here is some old RCF info. >The older RCF drivers that made it across East German lines in the 80s weren't half bad. I used to buy a version of their 6.5" from Conrad Electronics in Munich when I was a teen. They worked well in a 30 ltr vented box with a larger tweeter and had decent xmax.
