Ultra-high performance, yet rather simple - hybrid and more!

Hello,

Can you please explain what ComSuMo option is? I really don't remember the design with such a name.

At the time of extensive testing in 2015 I have tried 3 input devices at the input:
1) Tube triodes
2) jFETs
3) BJTs

All 3 options worked very well, although my personal preference soundwise is tghe tube.

Cheers,
Valery

Hi Valery,

Nice to have you back, assuming your and your family's health is good now.

I picked up ComSuMo from the start of this same thread, attaching a picture for reference.

Suman

ComSuMo 2021 Edition

OK, here we go - updated layout with corresponding schematic and berbers.
These gerbers are not good for home etching - soldering pads are too small for hand-drilling.
No problem for manufactured boards though.

Cheers,
Valery

Hi Suman,

Answering your questions:

- Yes, matched pairs in all the BJT LTPs will be an advantage;
- No, matching between BJT & FET is not required; also, the pair of FETs at the input does not require matching (followers);
- Optimum rails right now are +/-50...55V DC;
- You can use it with Slewmaster OPS no problem.

Please let me know if you will have more questions ;)

Cheers,
Valery

Hi

Can someone please explain why nobody in the Swap/Meet or in this thread seems interested in buying this amp at a ridiculous low price and also considering it was fully assembled with genuine parts and built by our expert builder Pinnochio.

Is this an old model and there’s a newer and better one available? I’m clueless so any pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks
Eric

Eric,

Tell me about it. It is very difficult to understand the motives and wishes of audiophiles.
I recognised Do's master skills; beautiful stuff, really stunning.
There is a suspicion about local product; this is the reason I like to sell the Aspen products overseas. Australians tend to want at Chinese prices, and scoff at local products for some reason I don't understand.
He will sell it, but let me know he should NOT drop his price........

Harumph..........

Hugh
