... truly unique.
You mean... the lamp?
Right...😀
While browsing thru I came across this Audio Nirvana 8" drivers.
Anyone has any experiences with this drivers. They claimed it's better sounding than FE206E and cheaper. Comments are greatly appreciated.
So sorry. A little bit out of topic.

The comparision between FE206 AND AUDIO NIRVANA 8" can be view here:

May be should help in determine between the drivers but I'm not good in comparing by specification.

The Quad 63 electrostatic panel with its delay line point source effect is one of my favorites.
It`s an Exact, fur shure the ultimate. Do you know where I can see prices and specs of the whole Exact range?

You need to get in touch with Chris Witmer, he can help with the translation and correspondence with the designer Mr Sano..
Email me if you need to get in touch with Chris Witmer.
I've a pair on order but it'll be a while before I get the drivers and make a cabinet for it.... I'll post here onec the project is completed.
The 12cm drivers start from around Yen 100,000 each, frequency response is around 40 to 20KHz. The 16cm drivers start from around Yen 122,000 each , frequency response 30 to 20KHz..
The most interesting aspect of the Exact drivers is the dual voice coils and EI controls... AFAIK the EI control will extend the bass and provide electro-mechanical braking for the drivers..
For sure the Ultimate

Has any one used Audio Narvana 10" fullrange drivers (from Common Sence Audio) in any applications. I am using them at the moment in a 1 cubic foot vented cabinets, I know it is to small but they still sound awsome but lacking low bass.
I have developed a spiral horn from the origional sea shell and it looks exactly like the loggo "soongsc" is using but it is still in AutoCAD form and need to comunicate with soongsc before i build it.

spiral horn...
well I have one too in autocad...
mine's tuned to 40Hz, and is super compact, and can be easily altered to a TL, and a side horn, and a RLH and a FLH

Actually my design is not a spiral horn. It's a back loaded horn with a chamber sized like a bass reflex. The horn direction is to help excite some room modes to compensate for the loss of base of the 3" driver. Driver location is selected to minimize edge diffraction effect to give it better focus. Baffel step compensation circuit is in the lower part which is a stand.intergrale said:Has any one used Audio Narvana 10" fullrange drivers (from Common Sence Audio) in any applications. I will wait for feed back on the Audio Narvana's but in the meantime Nanook & Soongsc I will post my drawing later in the week in PDF format and if any one of you would like to share your designs, I would appreciate it.
Soongsc, I am a grafic kind of a person and might need a few diagrams to under stand your explanation better.

If you look at my avatar, the right hand side is sort of like a shallow cylinder, the left hand side is the horn.intergrale said:I will wait for feed back on the Audio Narvana's but in the meantime Nanook & Soongsc I will post my drawing later in the week in PDF format and if any one of you would like to share your designs, I would appreciate it.

Attached zip scan of initial development, later development will be forwarded when I am back at work.

I had considered a design like that, but did not find a way to minimize baffle edge diffraction effects with that speaker location.
Axiette
Because some time ago I became an owner of a pair of previously unused Goodmans Axiette drivers, I'd like to read your opinions of them.
How did it perform?
What are the pros and cons?
What kind of enclosure and/or amplifier setup would you suggest?
I see that you have listened and compared many full range speakers.Kuei Yang Wang said:In the 8-10" Category I have heard the following:
various Lowthers
some AER
various old Radio Chassis
5" Drivers very similar to the Veravox 5" (same maker etc) in Horns
Goodmans Axiom 80, 110, Axiette etc.
Phy-Hp 8" & 12" Coax
Supravox 8"
Many of these are exceptional in certain areas, but have significant problems in others.

So he is doing business in audio electronics. That is good to know. Good for him. 🙂
