For the cardas back panel we should provide a note regarding which parts fit the back panel

Thanks again for all of your work on this Pico, much appreciated.
Gianluca - have you had a chance yet to get the new EMS pricing for shipping for us in Oz, if I buy 3 chassis will shipping be cheaper than 3 separate purchases for example. I am also thinking about the total purchase value to keep the order value below our $1000.00 AUD import GST limit.
Will your order be at least a definite 2?
Just trying to see what numbers we have.

I think he is just asking if he can also add some additional customizations in his own front panel. That should not be a problem.

Yes, I have already added shipping charges to Australia with EMS. As Dennis has stated in another post, the maximum weight we can ship with EMS is 30 KG so I am afraid 2 full kits is the maximum you can purchase at a time.

Assuming you buy 2 full kit chassis the total amount should be 250 + 250 = 500 euro which is less than 1000 AUD so you should not have any problem with customs
Gianluca
Maybe machine up enough for 50 just so people that see this late don't miss out.
Sure. I am sure once somebody starts posting pictures of their new chassis more friends will want to join the party 😀

Can you please send me a link to these components so I can add it to the product description?
Thanks Gianluca, all understood. I will make more than one order when you give us the green light.
@2picodumbs sure! Anyone else who might have pictures of the enclosure, or an identical one. I concerned with aesthetics and WAF. I did some poking around, but there is some (probably Italian!) company out there that makes both enclosures AND pretty knobs lights and switches. The enclosures from Hammond are real nice, but they put some wood on the sides that won't work for our Class A heat syncs. Too bad, because it's an easy way to make things look cool.
I would love a few pics of what we're getting into, before sending cash off to Europe.

Our plan is to make some extra chassis so those who are not sure they would like to invest into this project without "physically seeing" the box first can wait until others have received their chassis and posted some pictures 🙂
The chassis will end up looking something like this Dissipante 4U 400mm frontale 10mm ARGENTO coperchi e retro in alluminio 3mm
There will not be significant changes on the design itself, mostly simple holes in the front/rear panels. Both covers will be drilled according to the attached picture

Here's some information for posterity. I'm not sure about the included heat dissipation heatsinks here - that will be an important part for my specific project, F5Turbo v2.
* (front loaded apology below)
The reason we're ordering this "4U 500mm" case is because existing cases, at diyaudiostore aren't sufficient, or quite the right match for our project. The case we're group buying here has the same front face measurements as a standard 4U, but is deeper at 500mm (19.7in).
Rack mount case specifications go with this 1U, 2U, ... 7U details (W x H x D):
4U: 19in x 7in x 17.8in
5U: 19in x 8.34in x 19.67in or: 19.1in x 8.75in x 26.4in
computerhope.com
DIY Audio Store has Deluxe 4U Aluminum for $339 with following measurements:
17.3in x 6.7in x 12.3in (converted from metric measurements on Specs page 440mm x 171mm x 313mm)
Heatsinks included with case specifications:
The included heatsinks with our "4U 500mm" (?) will have the same dissipation as the larger 5U enclosure DIY Audio Store sells $399 Deluxe 5U Aluminum.
4 x aluminum heatsinks 40mm thick, 200mm deep. More 40mm heatsink information
* I apologize if this was already mentioned. I've read the first five pages of comments, and have been keeping up from around page 48 forward. So, here I am bringing us back to basics - Here's a Lebowski reference that I hope isn't lost on too many... shut the F up Donny! You're like a child who just wandered into a movie! You've got no frame of reference!
