First of all, the drawing in the datasheet is wrong 😀 It aint a 10mm hight
difference to the cooling element. It looks more like 1mm.
The amp has been running in idle for 15minutes and I can hold my fingertip
on the side of the coil for at least 10seconds, a fair estimate would be that it's
at 45-50degres C.
As I remember it the cooler element would get extremly hot if not
attatched to an additional cooler and maybe what you are experiencing is
radiated heat from the cooler accumulating in the coils.
I will leave it running for an hour or so and get back then.

30 minutes later I can still hold my fingertip to the side of the coil, maybe not
as long but at least for 7-8 seconds. So with some margin they are well below
60°C. A cooling pad between the case top and the coils will be, but now I'm
not that worried anymore. 😎

Yes it's to increase heat dissipation specifically from the coils, the rest of my
amps are running at very low temperatures' I would guess around 35°C.
That's at +/-88V, 16ohm load.

I had trouble with my first discrete class d amplifier.
The output coils were reaching well over 100 deg C.
Turned out I had used power supply inductors designed to run at 50Hz !
So I bought in some t106-2 cores and wound them myself.
After that the inductors barely got warm.
