UCD180 questions

I assume you have the UcD400? Your probably past the overvoltage protection. Measure the output of your power supply. For the UcD400 you should be < 68VDC per rail.

If so... you need a transformer with lower output voltages. Either that or a line regulator in front of the amp. The transformer will be cheaper. 🙂

single ended or bridged?

my knowledge is limited but im trying to understand the use of differential signal or more rather what I stand to gain, from what I can gather i might be wrong is that a differential amplifier will "push and pull" where a single ended amplifies whole + and half - signal ???? so would there be an ultimate reason to bridge ucd modules and what in terms of loudspeaker control this may gain (or not)

i understand that the use of differential signal rejects common mode noise in the signal but what im pondering on is having the difference stage working all the way to the loudspeaker (bridging two ucd modules)

so if the ucd modules have a damping facter which controls the emf of the speaker would that be a different scenario for a full-bridge configuration?

these questions have probably been answered on the solid state forum but like so many others looking for a needle in a haystack isnt my first choice!

Can I control the on/off pins of two UCD180 whit only one transistor? In other words, can I short the two control pins togheter?
Thank all of you in advance.

I'd like to extend that to 5 channels, and to be clear,
an unbalanced set up.
If not, should I use for instance optocouplers?

testing UCD without speaker load

Is it ok to run a signal through the UCD without any speakers attached for test purpose? Will this damage the modules? My understanding is that the UCD takes the feedback loop from the speakers - so, if you do not have speakers attached, will the UCD still behave normally? I am assuming that it will, but would like some confirmation from the forum.

Hypexshop.com

Hi,

indeed the www.hypexshop.com is down, there is somewhere an huge problem with all connections in our area. We do not even have telephone connection at the moment, the dual wan connection is also down.. :smash:

The only connection what works are the mobile telephone and my wireless internet connection... 😉

We have had very good feedback from our customer about the new HG series. I would be nice if somebody could place a posting...

Cheers,
