Put the fuses in the brown (or you could use black) leads so that all three fuses are protecting the same phase (L). The returns should be blue and go to neutral (N) with no fuse.
Do you know where to connect the Ground Loop Breaker to the Source Selector board? This is not clear on your schematic.

how long is a short life? i prefer to change the fuse every time if it is not too short..
A 300VA toroid without a soft start will likely require a T4A fuse to start reliably (3*VA/Vac)
It may start a few dozen, or even a hundred times on a T3.1A
I had two 625VA from the same manufacturer. one started reliably on a T5A fuse, the second blew that size of fuse on almost every start up. It did start on a T6.3A fuse. Then I adopted close rated fusing and used T2.5A fuses for both without nuisance blowing.
