Okay, I read the complete topic of the buf32 and I have a few (nooby :Popworm:)
questions :

-For the power supply I could use 1 Placid powesupply for digital section and 1 bipolair version for the analog section ?

-would the digital section with it's own onboard regulators benefit from the placid or should I change them to shunt types ? ( I still have a few Dexa regulators)

- The analog stage has no onboard regulators ?
- Opamps are used for the I/V(?), why not discrete parts in class A mode, is this working better ?

-I have interest in buying this cd transport :

any comments ?

Thanks in advance ! Erik.

Yes. Extremists might consider two Placid BP for the analog section.

Have a look at the Tweaking Buffalo thread. First thing to try would be leave the on-board regs alone and use the Placid.

Wait for a tweakers version if you don't like op amp's.

Looks interesting!:spin:

Hey guys.

I am working on it. I redid the layout for 4 layers. And added some options around the clock.

I also added some coolness around AVCC.

Its just harder to find layout time these days with the new job.

I do plan on ordering PCBs in the coming weeks.

I am sorry for the delay, but the board will be better for it.

Cheers!
Russ

Buffalo 32S Battery Powered Photo

Hope I'm in the right spot to post this photo. In any event, here is a photo of my battery powered Buffalo 32S DAC.
The units flanking the 32S are (Sorry Russ & Brian) Non-Twisted Pear Amplifiers.

A couple facts about the new Board:

1) 8 separate pluggable VREGs
2) Seperate output stage(s)
3) Some reworking of the supply routing for better RF isolation.

Otherwise its very similar to the Bufallo32S. 🙂

I am working hard to get it done soon.

There are actually three new modules I need to design to support this effort.

1) The DAC itself.
2) Some cool little VREGs(More about this later).
3) IVY II - This is actually done but being reworked to better fit a possible new form factor.

Also Counterpoint II is in the works.

And the very remote possibility of a tube output stage for a little fun.

Cheers!
Russ

Is this in reference to the tweakers board, or to a new version of the 'standard' B32S board?
